Good points - nice small hotel in good location near Shepherds Market, Pleasant staff.Bad points - no hot water in the morning, couldn't get the internet access to work, was not made welcome by being asked for payment up-front plus £50 for \"extras\".I paid £160 per night. I would rate the hotel as being worth £100-130 per night (assuming they get their boiler fixed). If you must stay in Mayfair it's probably one of the cheapest places.

The hotel is clean and quiet, which is the main thing, and the location is fine. The staff were reasonably helpful and the food was pretty good. But the room was small and old, clearly in need of repair in some places. There's no mini-bar in the room, no morning laundry service (I was asked to bring my laundry down to the front desk at 2:00pm (!), which I couldn't do as I was out during the day) and no proper business centre (even a small one would do; there's just a single PC in the foyer). All in all, the hotel is adequate but I had expected a lot more given the price, but this probably reflects the exalted price of London hotels in general.

A night stop in LondonUnfortunately we only had one night in this delightful hotel. In walking in one would have not been surprised to see Sherlock Holmes seated there. The decor was very homely, giving a period look to the lounge and reception area. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and for central London in an ideal spot just behind the London Hilton in a quiet backstreet within easy reach of Shepherds Market and the delightful pubs and restaurants. In addition a fantastic breakfast was to be had at Piccolo's just down the road. Quite simply a delightful hotel and to be highly recommended.

My wife and I were staying in London for the weekend on business and stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel itself is very well kept from the outside and the lobby is exquisitely decorated. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. The food was great. We stayed in a double room which was really clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was compact but very clean and my wife was able to have a bath in the evening to relax. The tv was big and there was a good range of channels and extra options such as pay per view movies. The room was well layed out with surfaces for laptops and other electronic devices with plenty of plug sockets to charge everything up.I would stay here again and probably will.

As I was in a cab, travelling across London I received a call to inform me of an overbooking situation at the hotel. Initially I was informed that I would be outbooked but after explaining that one of my colleagues was also staying at the hotel, I was assigned to an apartment in the annex. This meant that I had to be escorted to my room by a member of staff in order to gain access to the outer door of the annex building. Thankfully I was only stayingh the one night and only needed their assistance to get back to the room on 3 occasions.Otherwise the accommodation was fine and conveniently located for where I needed to be.

The rooms are a little jaded but the bed and bathroom were clean and the service was very good. The room was adequate in size (I booked a double room for sole occupancy instead of a single but the single may also have been adequate for my needs). The room had complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the room offering a variety of tea flavours on option. The heating was not functioning properly but the oil fired heating unit in the room was quieter than the fan heating system might have been. As a result the room was warm and quiet and wasn't stuffy or airless. The location is fantastic. I booked on the day of stay and paid a discounted rate. Be realistic with your expectations and you'll discover a hidden gem at a good price.

A warm welcome but some irritating detailsBeing asked to sit in an extremely comfortable chair for the check-in process made me think that I might be in for a treat...the holy grail of a hotel which knows what travellers want and takes care to deliver.las, there were too few sheets on the bed and the shower was merely a trickle. Excellent location and good value for money in view of this but tiny room, tiny bed and tiny bathroom! Efficient staff and lovely lounge area downstairs - all very comfortable and friendly. Upon arrival we were checked into a room that was so unacceptable, it was truly unbelievable. The mirror had been ripped off the wall, the wallpaper was peeling, there was mold on the bedskirt, and the walls were absolutely filthy. We requested a refund but the manager persuaded us to move to a 'deluxe' room in which the window would not open. Finally, we were moved to a third room that had obviously been recently decorated - however, wet towels from the previous occupant had been left on the bathroom floor which made us question whether the bathroom had been cleaned. Our hire car was broken into in the carpark, the back windshield being completely shattered, costing us an additional $500.The management at the hotel bent over backwards to help us contact police, file a report, etc.In conversation with the management, we learned the hotel had changed hands and was about to be completely renovated - it was clearly not ready for guests.

Great location, comfortable room -- a bit tired but with characterIt matters who checks you in. The gentleman at the other desk was gracious and welcoming. The woman who checked us in should find a new line of work. She made no effort to welcome us as guests and routinely proceeded to check us in and take our money. A real shame as he, on the sidelines, was clearly on-the-ball.Our room was clean with nice linens and sufficient space. The walls in the hallway were a bit battered and in need of TLC. Can't beat the location, though.

Last but not least, I thought the accommodation for £129 per night was sub standard and poor to say it comes under the Park Lane banner. I would rather stay in a travel lodge and travel to London in future. There was no one operating the bar, it was a wait and see who came past to serve.Sorry if this offends, its just how i feel about the whole experience.

Not bad value for the area.Booked a single room as it was only for one night and I wouldn't be spending much time there. However, didn't relalise how small the room would be. Just about enough space for all of the listed features but none to spare! However the quality and condition of the room was fine and the check-in/check-out, very friendly and efficient.Only real grumble would be about the size/comfort of the bed - will go for a double next time!

PLace to crash in Park Lane after dinner or awards ceremonyThis is a good spot for a cheap overnight if you are dining or attending a dinner or awards do at one of the Park Lane hotels - in my experience they are dreadfully overpriced, while you can stay here for about 100 pounds and have a quiet and pretty comfortable night. It's a little run down and the rooms can be cold, but they are clean and reasonably well equipped. I've never eaten here as there are some nice cafes for breakfast in Shepherd's Market just behind.

i checked in late due to a meeting; recptionist explined I had been upgraded and I asked to discuss rates for staying at least 2 to 3 nights per week for July and August for business. The manager wasnt available but that was fine as I was happy to discuss in the morning. My room was big but rather worn but when I got into bed I found the tv didnt work. Someone came to fix it but couldnt so rather than accept the offer of sending an engineer to fix it - it was around 11pm - I asked to move to another room. This room was more worn, the carpets stained but the TV did work! But in the morning, despite running the shower for 10 mins it was luke warm at best! Needless to say I didnt ask to see the manager for that discussion on room rates on check out! I accept london hotels are expensive, this could be great, the location is excellent but there no excuse for the basics not being right.

Standard of room was good. One member of reception staff good - he had to move us to another oom when our room had a total power failure. The room that we moved to had no aircon and this was a rare hot summer night, we baked and with the window open it was very noisy outside. The staff on recption had changed and were hopeless. The following morning we asked if our luggage could be stored, they had no room for it but offered to keep it in recpetion and they would 'keep an eye on it'. Not what you would expect of a 4* hotel. We got a good rate here and so didn;t complain to much but if I were paying the going rate I would have been very unhappy. Standard of rooms good - albeit small, but staff and maintenance on the whole, poor.

Overnight for function in Park LaneBoth at check in and check out I did not get the undivided attention of staff. The room was small but adequate in size - but the carpet was not clean (stained) and the furnishings unfinished. Breakfast room was very pleasant but the cooked food had been there some time. Extremelly unfriendly receptionist - blonde girl, we didn't get her name. Hotel very reluctant to deal with complaints. Very nice and homely looking lobby.Rooms allocated with number of faults, such as non working air conditioning, trousser press missing or faulty, dirty wardrobes with holes, windows not closing, cettle not working, shower with non existent stream of hot waterWe issued our payment in protest and would deal with Hotel at later stage for brach of Supply of Services Act 1984.This however relates to rooms we were allocated, 405. 505, 512,510 , so other rooms we cannot comment on. Perhaps receptionist didn't like us for some unknown reason. Other hotel staff are OK and pleasant. Breakfast is reasonable. This hotel is nice and in nice place, just needs to address the complaints in time and provide the training to receptionists to be more pleasant towards guests.Example: Q. Could we have an iron and desk please- request to receptionist? ( This is request 8 hours later following the written complaint that there is not trousser press in the room) A. Do you need it now? - her answerJudge this yourself.

Great location, Hotel was lovely and quiet with no noisy traffic whizzing past outside your window. My room was small but adequate. Only criticism is that the room was freezing and this was due to the fact the heating that was installed was not operating. The panel was lit-up as though it should be working but no heat was being dispensed. The fact that a mobile electric radiator was already supplied to the room suggests that I was not the first guest to be shivvering on arrival. All things considered though I would definitely stay again, particularly at the rate obtained via Late Rooms as it represents great value.

Messed up the bookingAs the tite suggests they hadn't got the booking from Laterooms and there were about 20 people overbooked. They squeezed us in, probably to the loss of someone else. Hotel was very nice, great location and they let us keep our bikes in the lock-up. 1. Hotel insisted on full payment on arrival. This makes it easy for the hotel to ignore an problems.2. Hotel offered me and a colleague an 'upgrade' to an appartment which turned out to be more of a downgrade - we went back to original rooms which were better3. Various problems with keys and aborted 'upgrade' meant it ook 45 minutes to check-in.4. In morning the shower was cold - even after running for 10 minutes. I was late and so had a cold shower. On check-out I asked for a discount as the room was not of a 4 star nature if it did not have hot wtaer. The man on reception said:a) He was not authorised to give any discount and that there was noone in the hotel that was. b) I did not think I should get a discount as I had failed to give the hotel the opportunity to fix the shower. He specifically said that I should have got out of the shower, got dressed, informed staff, waited for staff to arrive, waited for staff to attempt to fix the problem before I would be entitled to a discount.I left the hotel very unhappy indeed.

It started with a surly receptionist who continued to answer a phone even though she had a real live customer in front of her. This moved on to a male member of front of house staff who was clearly having an inappropriate conversation in a loud voice with his girl friend. I would have thought at £175 per night, a complimentary newspaper could have been included. The room was stuffy and the air con was ineffective, the bathroom was tiny and poorly laid out - you had to be an acrobat to access the (cold) shower. A guest from an adjacent room had exclusive access to a balcony right outside my room window, and due my having to open because of the poor air con system, the result was cigarette smoke coming into my room in the early of the morning! On check out I wasnt asked if I enjoyed my stay, otherwise I would have given direct feedback. the only reason I chose this hotel was its proximity to an event being held close by. The worst hotel I have stayed in for many a year.

The room fittings have come of age, the air-condition is rather noisy and the heating could not be turned on ( despite the help of the front desk clerk). The same problem happened in the bath room, hot water was only running from the bath tap, but could not be provided for the shower, so even trying hard we had a cold shower the first day and took a full bath the next morning. The bath tub was far to small for an adult person ( so I am a very slim 48 kg and 170 cm lady)There is free internet access for the guests in the lobby, but no printer is available at the hotel front desk, to print out an electronic air-line reservation or ticket. Guest were sent to a post-office or other hotel to enquire for such services. Any business traveller should have access to a printing facility at a 4 Star Hotel front desk! The hotel very much plays on its name and location, and uses it as an excuse to over charge and not up-date . The lobby/drawing room is very quaint and a nice area to sit and have a drink, but from then on its is very much downhill. The lifts are shabby, the corridors are tatty and in need of up-dating . The room itself is quite nice though not very modern. the bathroom clean but very basic . The room we were in ( 105 ) had only a view of a brick wall and a flat roof. There were stains on the carpet, bed was squeeky . After trying to get the shower to run hotand failing , i called reception to explain the issue , the girl told me to run the bath taps full bore temporarilly and this helps. It had 2 teperatures- scolding hot or freezing cold. !!

It is close to Hyde Park Corner tube station and is convenient for all of London's attractions and theatres. I have stayed at this hotel before and would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my friends.

okay I supposeOn balance, okay for money given the location. But really, it is not a good hotel, tiny tiny single room. They tried to call me minutes before my arrival to ask me to perhaps go to a \"sister\" hotel as they had overbooked. They would kindly pay my taxi. This was declined by me and accepted by them without fuss, to their credit. Staff were polite but agitated, Why? Don't they do this everyday?

Small and TiredPaid a little extra for a double room rather than a single but proved to be a waste of money as the room was tiny. Staff were efficient but i would say less friendly than in the past. The size of the room made the fact that everything was so tired even worse.

The hotel was easy to find. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The single room was on the small size but adequate for a one-night stay, however I found it over-priced at £160 (room only) from laterooms. com. Breakfast (an extra £14+) was adequate but would have benefitted from fresh fruit rather than tinned.

heating didn't work well and the sink was cracked - however, the location was ideal! It's a good price for the hotel/location and the bed was comfortable.

Tired ole roomI was disappointed with the quality of my room, it was definitely a bit tired for a supposed 4* hotel. Bathroom was very tight even for a London hotel.

The toilet in our room blocked up and we had to move rooms very late at night. The Total staff present at this time consisted of one receptionist on the front desk playing computer games on his laptop - there weren't any other staff in the building. We had to move all our luggage ourselves as a result. The room that we were moved to had window that was screwed shut (health and safety reasons) and the ONLY form of ventilation was an air-conditioning unit under the window next to the bed which was either on and noisy or off resulting in a hot, airless room. Unbelievably this room also had a slow draining sink in the bathroom - you had to wait for the water to empty from the sink before turning the tap on again to finish cleaning your teeth! Don't for get - this is a 4 star Mayfair hotel which would cost you circa £300 a night if you walked in off the street and asked for room! On the whole the experience was very disappointing. My wife and I had never stayed in the Mayfair area before and were really looking forward to it - but were really let down - particularly as we were on our way home from a two night stay in a 4 star hotel in Paris which was nothing short of amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the place was like a little palace - and it was cheaper than The Park Lane Mews Hotel! In the end we asked for a discount but were told that we would have to formally write to the hotel owner if we wanted to reduce the price (£175 per night). We were offered a rate of £135 for a nights stay in their \"best room\" should we wish to stay there again. Needless to say, we weren't overly keen to accept this offer and are unlikely to in the future. I just can't accept that this hotel is deserving of a 4 star rating - especially when it is compared to our hotel in Paris.

Quick ReviewThe hotel was conveniently located and the reception service friendly. The bedroom was dire. It was an attic room which was large enough only for a single bed. The shower room was small. The bathroom was old, the taps and shower worked badly. I could find no internet connection and my pc could not find a signal. I would neither ecomend the hotel nor stay there again.

Small and friendly are two of the main criteria I use when booking a hotel and this hotel lived up to my expectations. Tucked away behind Park Lane, it was a good location for our visit to London; shopping was within waling distance and car parking was a stones throw away. Breakfast was buffet style but with plenty of choice of hot and cold food.A small lounge and sitting area with bar service enabled us to finish off our evening with a late night drink.
