The Park Place Hotel is an all non-smoking 126 room property with a personality that is upscale boutique, catering to both the corporate and leisure traveler. All guest rooms feature a king bed or two double beds, deluxe bedding, free high-speed internet access, personal in-room safe, in-room refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and board, 32 inch television with cable access and CD/radio alarm clock. Other amenities include an expanded complimentary continental breakfast, complimentary cookies at check-in, an outdoor pool, and a state of the art exercise facility featuring an array of Nautilus machines and free-weights. While stepping through the front doors, warm greetings await in an inviting, richly appointed lobby, and check-in is made all the sweeter with the sharing of freshly baked cookies. Rest easy in the hands of personable, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive staff while melting into an atmosphere of soft understated elegance both of which will be the companions throughout the stay. After checking-in, enjoy a cold beverage and relax at the manager's reception which is held in the breakfast area Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The physical attributes of a hotel are extremely important in order to guarantee a positive impression. However, in order to be truly successful, each and every guest must experience a level of service that makes guests want to return again and again. Each and every professional in the staff will deliver the special brand of hospitality in order to fulfill this commitment. *PLEASE NOTE: The hotel will begin renovations July 19th, 2010 to all guest rooms. During this period there may be some noise experienced between 10am and 5pm only Monday through Friday. There will be no renovation work on Saturdays and Sundays. The lobby will be under renovation beginning August 1, 2010 and the Front Desk and Breakfast/Coffee services will be provided from our Conference Center.

It is a little tricky getting to the hotel. You must cross four lanes of traffic to get to the road it is located on, so try to avoid high traffic times. The hotel is lovely and our room was nice. My son loved that he got a freshly baked cookie when we checked in. The only drawback is that the bathroom is rather small and there is no place to get ready other than the bathroom. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. The pool and fitness center were both very nice. The fitness center has treadmills, elliptical machines, Nautilus machines and free weights. The hotel is located approximately 10-15 minutes from most attractions. We liked this feature because it was a quiet atmosphere, but if you prefer to be within walking distance this hotel isn't a good choice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Overall the hotel was fantastic. The service was awesome, and the room was clean for the most part, there was some trash still left from the people who stayed in the room before us, but nothing else was a problem. The price was decent to be twenty minutes from Beale Street! I didn't want to stay right in the middle of Memphis so this was the perfect place. However, the street it is on can be a little scary only because the turn is right off the highway and you have to be really quick to get in the traffic then immediately turn off. I think they could use a back side entrance, it would make things a lot easier. It was really close to some great little eateries I had never been and just up the interstate (which was super close) was the Wolfchase Galleria! Great shopping! I'll stay there again when I go back to Memphis!
