The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The poolside bar prices were exorbitant for many to afford and provide tips. In room the toilet ran and the left faucet handle fell apart. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Most on site restaurants were too expensive for us with kids. A cheaper breakfast menu would be helpful. We were able to stay and use facilities the next day until our flight. We are planning to come back in October.

Very family oriented, pools and facilities all cater to families. Must have car to enjoy surrounding Scottsdale and Phoenix. Water Park always crowded. Great place to stay if traveling with young or school age children, not many areas for adults to relax in a quiet setting. While the water park is so much fun for young through school age kids, it is usually crowded and loud.

The management/customer service at this property were horrible. Couldn't get anything right... no apology made. My family will not visit again.

The resort offered many activities for families. There are many things to do in the area also. The pool area at River Ranch could have been cleaner and the service much better! We waited for an hour to get lunch served by the pool. The food was also very pricey. You can't beat the weather though!!

This was a friends weekend getaway for a concert. We were pleasantly surprised. We wanted to check out this hotel for a stay with the kids and we were very happy with our choice. We go to Phoenix every summer as a last getaway before school starts and this place is perfect. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and welcoming. We called Housekeeping to get a fridge for our room and they were there before the promised time and were friendly and helpful. The staff in the two restaurants we enjoyed were top notch as well and good food too. We will definitely return this summer for the last family outing before school starts. I'm sure our expectations will be met 10 fold.

Very comfortable beds. It was hard to know where you were going. Lots of ins and outs. Excellent rooms, comfortable, and clean. The hallways had several trash bins overflowing and room service items sat outside doors for days. Other than that overall the hotel would be great to travel to again.

Excellent for the short notice and price. The offer to extend my stay for another night, probably would have allowed us to enjoy the facilities more. I expected a kitchen area for this level of room. I was able to enjoy an evening in a resort I would normally never be able to afford. I hope I will have another opportunity to land a deal like this one in the future.

Two rooms separated by the sink and bath area with doors on both sides. Room service ends early and has menu that is limited and mainly unhealthy. One of the earlier suite hotels which uses space efficiently. Bath area small which might not work for very young children. Few views (Pointe at Tapatio better for views). Room service ends too early to plan to make a downtown night event and order upon return to room. Upper floors better to avoid noise from upstairs neighbors.

A much needed 3 day getaway flop. We chose a mid priced suite and where given the worst room in the resort. Right next to an enterence road to private residences with noisy cars all night and a 4:30 am garbage truck just outside our room. The AC made enough noise to wake the dead. The swim up bar/resturant was closed. The front desk forgot our $50. food vouchers that were included in our reservation then demanded printed proof before making us return to the lobby to issue them. A cold could care less attitude combined with a mystery smell in the corner made this one of the worst hotel experiences we've had.

Great Landscaping. Maintenance is slipping. This resort is starting to show its age. I've stayed several times and problems have ranged from plumbing, to mechanical systems, to a sauna that was out of order for more then two weeks. These problems are minor and management is addressing them. Pools are first class - my kids love staying here. We will be back.

We ended up in a Casita with no balcony, it was cramped, the air did not work right, the comforter on the bed was filthy, the pool had scum on the sides and bottom was dirty, and the TV was mounted on a side wall so you had no comfortable place to sit and view it.

We found the staff very courteous and helpful at Squaw Peak. The overall feel of the hotel is that it is a bit older, but has had an overhaul. The rooms are dark (but that may be on purpose with the heat). The pool area is o.k. but got very crowded on the weekend. The main pool was the only pool with cool enough water to enjoy. I wouldn't call the pool area a "water park" but they do! It would be nice if they could pressure wash the deck once in a while, because it is so dirty and so are the chairs. The rooms were very quiet, which I appreciated so much. I don't know how you can charge $8 for a 12 oz. smoothie by the pool, but a few people do buy them! We ate at restaurants thanks to the recommendations we had read here. Overall, it was a good experience, not upscale by any means, but good for families.

the hotel was nice and we had a great time! the only complaint i had was that they do not offer a free shuttle to their hotel.....of course you can pay a bus ($15.00 pp)....or buy a personal town car ($35.00) or just take the city bus(1.25pp) but it takes 2 hrs for a ten mile drive.....but for the price of the rooms they should offer some kind of air port shuttle to their hotel. the other thing the rooms need are a refrigerator and microwave.....now our room had a fridge, but it was not working and could not use it! I also felt the food at their restaurants were a bit pricey(15.00 hamburger or sandwich) but then again it is a Hilton and they want their money. over all it was a lot of fun and if you have kids its a great place to go!!!

Hotel is very nice in a great location. We did have a few problems which made the stay less than 100% enjoyable. Very slow internet which after a lengthy phone call to the provider of the service, the speed was more acceptable. Water heater was not working in our unit, very cold shower the first day. The jacuzzi was not working. Temperature was good but the aerating pump would not operate. Just like sitting in a very hot bath tub.Food service out by the main pool area (By the water slide) was terrible. Very slow and disorganized. Room was great, very clean and comfortable.

During Spring Break, a friend and I stayed at this hotel. We had reserved a room for three nights, and the first night they put us in a king suite, instead of the two doubles we requested. They promised to switch us into the right room the next day, and that they would have a room ready between noon and 4. The first room we stayed in had a huge leak that turned the bedroom carpet into a small pool. Maintenance came to check it and was unable to find the source, and we had to stay the night in that room because they had over booked the hotel. The second day, having been promised a new room, they spent three hours claiming there were no other rooms available, until I contacted our travel provider, and suddenly the room we had reserved was ready for us. The entire hotel, including restaurants, was horribly understaffed, the people at the front desk were rude and slow. The second room we were placed in had a shower that did not drain properly, and after two nights in that room, it still was not fixed. The manager tried to contact us once to talk about the issues we had, calling in the middle of the day when we told them we would be out, but never returned our second call. We spent the rest of our trip at a La Quinta, and could not have had a better experience there. We paid a lot of money to stay at a hotel and found their staff and rooms to be far inferior to the cheap hotel we stayed in later. The pools were beautiful and fun, but the rest of the hotel was horrible.

The pool was really fun. It started to sprinkle so they closed the pool and when it stopped raining it was only open to the employees only. We were really there to relax and hag out by the pool but the closes early so we sat in our room prefer to stay somewhere the pool is open 24 hours or at least 10 p.m. I would think twice about staying here.

Great rooms. The service at the Slim Pickens poolside bar. The bartenders were not friendly and the service stunk. I would have not paid full price for this hotel. The pool area is fun. It has a water slide but not much seating area. There was only one server walking around and the bartenders were not friendly at Slim Pickins. The restaurant Lantana was not the best restaurant. Especially for the price. Although the staff was friendly.

Our trip was overall a good experience. The location of the hotel was not as close to my destinations as I thought it was. Not having wi-fi in the rooms and having to pay 11.95 per day to access the internet in the comfort of your suite was a bit high to me. But the service and the lazy river pool, etc. were great fun. We were in need of transportation and unfortunately the service we were provided, the driver was not at all familiar with where we needed to go.

I loved the layout of the hotel and the home-like feeling of the rooms. The housekeeping service needs a lot of work. The fact that they can not speak English may contribute to the problem. Overall the hotel is very nice and the layout if beautiful. Like all hotels, they have their flaws. I wouldn't say that the customer service and front desk were helpful. In addition, the housekeeping was not that great but I believe that's more on an individual basis more than anything. I would recommend the resort to someone who is just looking for some fun for the kids and they are not looking for much.

The room was wonderful and we loved the pools. The snacks were a little expensive. I had a class at another hotel but chose to stay at the squaw peak Hilton due to its water park. I brought my children with me and they had a blast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
