The Quality Inn University Center was about 1/2 mile from University of Pittsburgh. There were many reasonable price restaurants within walking distance for me. The Quality Inn has a Panera Bread in the building. There is a large park, Schenley Park, within 1/2 mile which is great for runners or walkers. I was in town to attend Cub/Pirate baseball games and if traffic was good PNC Park is about a 20 minute drive.

It was great that Panera was on the lobby level. The pillows were starched! Very uncomfortable. I also needed a computer to get my boarding pass the next day- there wasn't a computer in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel. It was in a good location to the downtown area. I thought the rate was a little high since the hotel didn't have a computer available to get our boarding passes. It's also nice having Panera in the hotel.

The shuttle service was excellent. It allows smoking so there was a pervasive smell of smoke. It is an old hotel and a little rundown. It has been remodeled but not in the last 15 to 20 years. The rooms are small but clean. The shower was great, lots of water pressure.

This hotel is really only good for people visiting the nearby hospital or people going to the University campus. I would never stay at this hotel again, especially since my business was downtown.

The staff was mostly friendly/ smoker friendly. You can't order a movie from you room, staff not very familiar with surroundings or attractions. Smelly. We were on a mini honeymoon, for guests that just want to sit back and chill there was not much on TV and nothing to entertain in the hotel (can't order movies). We were 10 min. late checking out and one staff gave us quite an attitude. The other gentleman was very pleasant. And it would not hurt to modernize the hotel a little,(new TVs, a small fridge, a microwave).

Free coffee available in lobby and in the rooms. The bathroom needs to be updated. The bed and linens were comfortable, but the carpet and furnishings were extremely dated as well as the bathroom. The hotel was quiet and also within walking distance to shops, eateries, and transportation.

Convenient location,affordable, friendly staff and comfortable room. It was a pleasure staying at this Quality Inn. I spoke at the front desk for directions and she was very accommodating to help us get around the city of Pittsburg. The room was large and very comfortable. We intend to stay at this hotel again. My son is enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburg and and when come to visit him, we need a place to stay. We live 5 hours away, so when we bring him back to college from a semester break, this is where we would like to stay.

There was a delicious smell of Panera bread in our room. It could have had better information about bus schedules. I liked it a lot and I would stay there again.
