The Queens Hotel is situated in the heart of the vibrant City of York, onthe banks of the River Ouse. All of York's famous attractions are withinwalking distance. Superior rooms overlooking the river are subject toavailability and should be requested direct with the Hotel prior to arrival. We charge an extra £10.00 per night for these rooms. The Hotel has limitedcar parking spaces, a space must be reserved direct with the Hotel prior toarrival if required to avoid disappointment. The cost per night is £10.00.When the Hotel car park is fully booked an alternative is recommended approx4 minutes from the Hotel. The cost per 24 hours at the NCP is £15.00 (ratesubject to change).The Hotel has a Restaurant which serves breakfast anddinner daily. The cost for a Full English breakfast is £7.75 per person,Dinner is charged individually with a main course dish priced from £7.50.TheHotel bar is open from 4.30pm until 12 midnight and the lounge overlooks theRiver. (Please note that limited menus will be available during Christmasand New Year period. Pre booking of evening meal is essential during thisperiod).The Queens Hotel does not accept single sex groups. All public areas(including lounge and balcony) in the Hotel are non smoking. Smokingbedrooms can be requested at the time of booking. Requests are subject toavailability.

A very pleasant experience, good central position, friendly helpful staff - we would certainly stay there again. When we arrived there was a small problem with our room and within five minutes we were moved to another room with the minimum of fuss.

We caught a taxi from the railway station which cost just over £4 to the hotel which was in a good location for us. The hotel has lift facilities for those who can't manage stairs. Reception staff were fine and so was the room which was reasonably spacious. The bathroom was a good size but the hot water service was the worst I've experienced so far in the UK. We found it really difficult to regulate with the temp varying considerably while showering. Breakfast included in the price was the usual hot buffet, cold cereals, fruits etc which was all fine, but don't expect any service from staff on duty, eg "May I have a glass of water please?" - "I'll get a jug, leave it over there and help yourself". Fab hotel, location excellent. Really good value for money. Will return to this hotel, best we have stayed in at York.

ONE NIGHT IN THE QUEEN'S HotelI would have rated the Hotel first class exept that our room(33) had a terrible smell of damp though the Room was clean, I found it hard to sleep with the smell. I would return as the location was brilliant. but would have liked a view over the river.

Excellent location in the city centre next to the river. Does need to be refurbished as its looking a little tired but for the price we paid it was good value.
