Check in and out was slow due to lack of reception staff. Only one on a saturday afternoon! The suite was little more than a large room and not worth the extra (£70) money. Very disappointing! Wierd bathroom set-up as well - sink in the bedroom area, just like the new Premier Inns.It's in a good location and only a 5 minute walk from the main shops and bars. I would stay here again, but only if the Lowry and Midland were full - and only in a normal room.

Good quality, modern interior in a classic buildingI have stayed at this hotel many times, and am always impressed with the style and quality. It remains quite fresh and has a feel of quality. Staff generally friendly leaning towards higher professionalism than seen in more \"friendly\" hotels. This is one of my wife's favourite hotels and its bar is very lively. Nice rooms, well presented and a good price offer delivers a very good buy.

you must add car parking to the price of your stay which is another twenty pounds a night.dont have a room by the lifts, unless prepared to be kept awake.freindlyness and quality of food very good

The room we had was excellent - on the 14th floor with a view of Manchester city centre.There was a slight problem with the television when we first arrived but somebody from maintenance attended within 5 mins of reporting the problem and it was fixed.Unfortunately, the main restaurant was fully booked by the time we had made our reservation. As such, we used the Alto restaurant. Whilst the food was less formal than the main restaurant (shepherds pie, paste etc), the staff in the Alto restaurant were most helpful and did everything they could to ensure an enjoyable meal. Upon asking whether they were able to prepare a steak they arranged for one to be sent up form the main restaurant. I cannot praise the staff highly enough.
