We were not warned on booking the hotel that the venue holds wedding receptions until late into the evening, our room was just off the function room and so was quite noisy. The room was ok in size, the milk in the cartons was off and radiator somewhat difficult to keep warm. The shower also flooded the bathroom. Location was good for access to Bath.

a beautiful hotel and very pleasant staff the food is of very good quality although a bit pricey but served efficiently by the staff bar area is comfortable and there is lots of room if you are eating in there

the only problem we had was another guest kept getting himself locked out of his room and caused some disturbance trying to get back in.

Beautiful place with very large rooms. It was far from the local city. It was lovely but we expected it to be closer to downtown York. It was outside all of the York sites. Other than its location, we loved the hotel.

We found the hotel comfortable and friendly. Food was excellent and we had a good stay. Perhaps in need of decoration in places and a little bit pricey for the facilities available, but no real complaints.

Not as good as it should have beenNothing about this hotel was very special, greeting was OK but I was directed to my room which was quite a walk with no offer of assistance with my bags. No lift to the part of the hotel I was in, the room was large and could have been lovely but was a bit tired. Bathroom needed a good clean, the filter on the bathroom fan was caked in dust and muck, hair in the bath and on the floor and it looked very tired. In summary OK for a one night stay for work where I just needed a bed, would not stay here for a special weekend or a holiday.

Rooms comfortable and clean. Nice setting and location. Breakfast fine, but nothing exciting. Only problem was with a very confused booking system for rooms and reception stuff getting flustered

overpriced motelDespite being a period property very little of that in evidence with a bland motel style interior and travelodge style rooms - basic, clean (apart from floors needing a good hoover) and comfortable but at £120 (RO - breakfast £30 extra!) very overpriced as no different to a motorway lodge - restaurant meal was very good but again a little pricey - only booked as everywhere else nearby full and would not use again unless rooms a more realistic price of around £75
