It's location was perfect. The wallpaper and carpet were extreamly unattractive. Located in downtown Asheville you can walk to pretty much everything. The rooms are well appointed if small and a little cramped.

The rooms were very nice and the interior decorating superb. It lacked character or a memorable quality-notwithstanding to the room. I overall was very pleased with the room, especially since it was the last minute. The hotel room is superb but the hotel facility lacked personality.

Close to downtown. Small room. If you are attending an event downtown-it is the best option- we had tickets to a concert at the Civic Center and we could walk-otherwise there are many other types of accomodations for this resort area that would be better suited to see Asheville.

Good location. Nice rooms, large. Good fitness center with state of art equipment. There was a $10 charge to connect wirelessly in your room. There was a cable hook-up available. Nice hotel only a few blocks from center of town. Though there was a large medical assistants meeting taking place, it did not interfere with my enjoyment of the facilities. There is a very nice in-door pool. The Biltmore Estate is only a short ride away and worth a day-long visit.

Attentive staff, eager to please. First room was dusty. We had a great stay. The first room we were in was on the 6th floor. The black furniture was a bit dusty as though this room hadn't been utilized in awhile. And there was a bit of dried soda on the night table (small enough amt I didn't notice until we had been in the room for 3 hours). I called the front desk and within 5 minutes we had a new key delivered to our room for a new room on the 12th floor. The pool was perfectly warm and quite large. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone (and already have!).

Location. Room was dirty; there were crumbled Doritos on the floor. Great location, very helpful staff at the front desk. However, the room was not clean.

Clean comfortable. Air conditioner has loud rattle which kept us awake. We would turn it off then get to hot so had to listen to rattle. When I complained about the rattle in the air conditioner they just said "I'm sorry I will look into it." I felt they owed us a monetary compensation, we were unrested.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was particularly friendly and helpful for our first trip to this area. The rooms were a bit on the small side. My husband and I had a particularly nice experience at this hotel. The atmosphere was warm and staff extremely friendly. Our room, though small, was tastefully decorated. The hotel was conveniently located to the downtown area that was full of restaurants and attractions.

Cleanliness & staff's dedication to satisfaction. Recently renovated took on an entirely different meaning as we struggled to sleep due to the strong aromas of cleaning solutions in all linens. Great location, beautiful furnishings, attentive staff - perfect for a night or two.

Marriott does good quality work and this met all expectations. It frosts me to have to pay for internet access in an upscale property. Hotel is good. Room was not cleaned to Marriott standards. I don't like paying for internet access. Fairfield, Courtyards, and Spring Hill provide it free and then you have to pay in the upscale property.

Food was very good. The room had not be cleaned thoroughly, but it was better than some places we've stayed. the staff were friendly, the food was good. There was just alot of people drinking out in the lobby and elevator, which with a young child had me concerned. I think the lounge/bar should have been in a more secluded area not in the middle of the lobby with no walls or separation from the general public.

If you suffer from mold or mildew allergies, DO NOT STAY HERE! Rooms are nicely appointed, but are ridden with mold. My whole family was sick within a few hours and cut our stay short after one night.

We have stayed at the hotel several times as there are not a lot of options in the downtown Asheville area. Easy walk to everything. Service is pretty good, but there were hairs scattered all of the bathroom - in the soap dish, on the floor, and on the shower walls. Also, have to pay for internet and the room service food is very mediocre.

It was very convenient to the downtown Asheville area. The bathrooms in the rooms are very small--probably the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel. Overall, I think this was an average hotel for the price. It is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Asheville and many restaurants. The hotel is one of the tallest buildings in the area (12 stories, I believe), so if you are on one of the top floors you're certain to have a great view. The hotel room itself was clean and what I was expecting for the price. However, the bathroom in our room was extremely small for a hotel bathroom. It also seemed as if the rooms have were remodeled at one point, but the bathrooms were not. The bathroom did not seem like it fit in with the rest of the room. Overall, I would stay here again if I were in the Asheville area and would recommend it to friends/family. After all, there is enough in Asheville to see so you shouldn't be spending that much time in your hotel room anyway, right?

Beds were comfy, bedding was thick & luxurious. The restaurant including room service was incredibly overpriced. Great location in Downtown Asheville, great view of the mountains. Rooms are well equipped and extremely comfortable with plush beautiful bedding & plenty of pillows. The restaurant was incredibly pricey, so we skipped it. The staff was very helpful in assisting us to find more reasonably priced food nearby.

Carefully chosen decor, great location and friendly staff and overall positive ambience. Bath drained slowly! That's our only complaint. An excellent hotel that reflects the positive values of the company executives.

Comfortable bed. Noisy A/C that cycled on and off every 10 minutes and kept us awake. Overall the hotel was nice. We had a problem with our A/C and couldn't get the fan to run continuously, therefore it cycled on and off loudly every 10 minutes preventing sleep. Maintenance was called by front desk but never showed, hours later when we called back we were told that maintenance hadn't called back and we could move to a different room which we did and had same issue. Next day it was fixed and we were given complementary breakfast at restaurant for both days and sent a nice fruit basket to apologize. Overall, would recommend hotel but if a/c an issue would have fixed early on after arriving as it can't be programmed without special codes.

Clean rooms. Needs modernization. Compared to the Renaissance in Nashville, TN this hotel is light years behind. Throw some money into modernization, updates!

This hotel is top notch and we have stayed before and will again. They renovated and got horrible beds. I don't like the new beds at all. This hotel is strategically located in Asheville. It has great views, is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful and the staff is top notch. The hotel is clean, the restaurant is superb and I absolutely would recommend it. I hate to say that the hotel renovated in 2007 and changed their beds. The new beds are less than desirable.

Beautiful decor, exceptionally clean, awesome service! That we only stayed one night! This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Downtown Asheville is wonderful, once you get there. Don't trust written directions to get around Asheville, though. We had a terrible time getting in and out of the city. Take a good map, but don't count on very clear road signs.

Friendly staff, handsome rooms, and downtown location. New upgrades have made this hotel into a miniature luxury hotel in downtown Asheville. Close enough to walk to the downtown in just a few minutes. Staff was friendly and courteous, they even spoke foreign languages, a necessity with the Baltimore nearby.
