This was a very clean, nice hotel in the Syracuse area. Very convenient to all major highways. Only drawback is that it is not in the center of town, so you need to travel to get to restuarants, etc. Hotel restuarant is very good, though! Cooling/heating system was a bit loud, but this helps drown out noise as the walls are VERY thin.

Convenient location. My son had several allergic reaction in room. Had trouble getting them to change linen at 12 a.m. Hotel was clean, super convenient in location. Price was great. Only concern was that my son had an allergic reaction 30 minutes after we checked in at about 10 p.m. We took him to the hospital and asked for the linen to be changed in case it was the linen. When we came back at about 2 a.m. it wasn't done yet. We asked again and finally got it half changed because there was no person on duty who could do it.

Location and front desk supervisor. Delayed housekeeeping. Had problems getting room on first day, and problems getting room cleaned on second day (6PM!). Front desk supervisor, however, did comp breakfast for good will. Overall, a nice stay.

The room and bed were very comfortable. The room was excessively noisy due to close proximity to road. Nice place to stay with a good restaurant on site. Ask for a room on back side of hotel away from highway.

I have stayed at the Marx several times in the past couple of years and always find it a relaxing place. Rooms are stylish and comfortable - I love the rainfall shower.

This was an awful experience. My daughter and I stayed here while touring the University of Syracuse. When we walked in our room there was a large hole torn in the middle of the carpeting about the size of a softball. The sheets had NOT been changed from the previous guests; the beds were full of hair and debris. It was absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms are extremely extremely small. The management did apologize when they saw the condition of our room and promptly moved us. The second room was a little better; there were no holes in the carpet, although there was still hair in the bed (YUCK!) We would not recommend anyone to stay here, they offered us a free night for the inconvenience but we were so grossed out we checked out! This is not a 3 star hotel!

My wife and I were assigned to a room that looked like someone had just had a just had an illicit but very enjoying rendezvous. The room was a mess the bed was unmade, the bathroom loked like an SU dorm room. What a diappointment. Try the Genesee Grande for a real 4 star. Redfield's was also a joke. Try the Scotch and Sirloin

We've stayed twice at The Marx and enjoyed the charming public rooms, excellent Sunday Brunch, and convenient on-site parking. The guest rooms are tremendously comfortable, the overhead rain showers are luxurious and the room appointments upscale. The hotel is convenient to the Syracuse University campus and provides easy access to downtown, I-81 and I-690. We'll stay here every time we visit Syracuse.

Bed was comfortable. Flat screen TV was nice. Did not have wireless internet and ethernet connection was slow! This is a nice hotel a little ways away from downtown Syracuse. It's not a convenient walk downtown. The room was nice, bathroom maybe a little small. My biggest complaint was the internet. No wireless in the room, and the Ethernet connection was very slow. I had a lot of trouble downloading video. Two freeway exits from the Carousel Mall.

Room comfort/appearace was an amazingly pleasant shock. Exterior & neighborhood were questionable. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. They answered all questions and seemed genuine. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Syracuse. It makes a good land mark as it's tall and circular. But get down stairs early for coffee - once it's gone it's gone.

The wonderful accommodating staff and the smart sleek rooms. Could use jacuzzi suite or pool area. Bath could be bigger. My 7th time staying at the property. Love the room. Great big bed with lots of pillows, great desk/work area, internet, nice restaurant and bar area.

Very nice room and comfortable beds. Access door from parking garage required ringing the bell. Very nice hotel in downtown Syracuse. If you have to be in Syracuse, this is the place to stay.

All of the staff was very friendly and the room was above average size and overall comfort. Free parking. The location is in the middle a several major highways with nothing at all within walking distance. Open shower gets water all over. Open vanity area. Overall the hotel met expectations, but you do feel isolated from everything else in the city. Relatively clean, safe and friendly.

The bed were very very comfortable. The club room was not open on the weekend. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was close to my daughters college. I would stay at this hotel again in the future.

Modern and a great value. Restaurant and room service wasoverpriced. Free parking garage! Cookies and ice water near work out area for all to enjoy. Every time I was in the lobby--staff was cleaning the floors! Room service was friendly and quick. Front desk staff was great.

We were in Syracuse to visit friends of long standing who were dealing with illness. Additionally, we hadn't seen them in a long time. The hotel was particularly well located, the staff quite upbeat....more than pleasant,and since our trip was somewhat arduous, we enjoyed resting in the room which met our needs for decompressing.
