the room configuration prevents one from watching tv from bed.

Madrid StayHotel is situated on a very busy main road but double glazed room and air-conditioning kept room cool and quiet enough to sleep. Central position provided easy access to most attractions and good view of central Madrid. There was no mini bar and room had obvious water damage to wood surrounds and wallpaper - needed redecoration. Room otherwise comfortable. Ten minute wait for use of lift on Sunday morning (room on floor 8).

The Tryp Rex in downtown Madrid was a comfortable, economy type hotel. The rooms are somewhat small, but well furnished and comfortable. There were 2 beds, a desk, a chair, and the bathroom was adequately large with shower and bathtub.Wate pressure was good on the 7th floor.The room had a small balcony from where you cansee the masses of people walking up and down the Gran Via.The room was rather noisy because it faced the street.The room had nice closet, a well stocked minibar and a safe box in the closet. The elevators are tiny and very slow. One elevator accommodates 2 people and the other only 3.The staff was helpful and efficient. The room and hotel were clean.The maid service was good. The towells get refresh twice daily and the beds are turned downd in the evening. This is a good value for your money hotel.
