General Description

Riad Dar Beldia has wonderful location in medina. The stylish riad nestling close to the walls of the three royal palaces. Storks in their nests, look down on your comming and going to the markets and souks Jemaa efna Is max 10 minute stroll ., its accesses easy, not far from the Badi palace and legendary square Jamaa Lafna. Designing and building, required the use of traditional skills and materials wich confer great elegance to the place. Its comprises five doubles rooms with full equipment, set around an interior patio with swimming pool. The laterite mud (Skillfully baked clay mixed with hay) uncovered beams and support, wrought iron, Atlas ksours decoration and tadelakt (counterpart of Italien stucco). The simple decoration has been inspired from the purest tradition: iridescent carpets, handmade fabrics, terra cotta pottery, magic lanterns with iridescent colors, symbol-calligraphy-ornamented pots, all being the fruit work of our skilled, with millenary know-how, craftsmen. Once there, your host, endowed with real artist talent, coupled with professionalism and efficiency, will give you a warm welcome, assisted in that with courteous and discreet staff. At night-fall, having visited the famous bustling Jamaa Lafna square, strolled for a long time in the busy souks, experienced the profusion of colors and scents of the medina, let yourself be guided by the magic of this pleasant and quiet place where two scripts, two times, two emotions - the ones of the past revisited and those of the present that stands still - commingle.

Very annoyed when we arrived Riad Dar Beldia to find a 3 star Bed and Breakfast.5 Star??? Hardly. Swimming pool= freezing cold bath tub in the lobby. Even charged us more than we were quoted once we got there. Very disappointed. On the plus side, located in the middle of the Medina. On the minus, located in the middle of the Medina. The place is clean and the staff are friendly, but we didn't have a working TV or Wifi connection (and we asked, over and over for it to be sorted).I'm only placing this review because we were really upset when we arrived expecting the 5 star hotel we booked and ended up in a 3 star riad. The people who rated above me should be ashamed of themselves. Not a bad place (the staff are friendly), but NOT 5 star by a longshot.

Good location in the middle the medina and on walking distance from the square. Friendly and helpful service, both French and English speeking. Room not too big or luxurious, but cosy and clean, as is the rest of the hotel.

I think this Riad is owned by a French couple. Both of whom we met fleetingly. When we checked in they tried to fob off the tiny room next to reception downstairs on us despite us being two tall adults! We said absolutely no way would we take that room considering the cost (€65+tax). The Female owner was aware that we were complaining and never came over and sorted it out even though we are fluent in French. She left before her guests were sorted in a room. The Moroccan employee hummed and hawed for ages and even tried to say that another room would cost us more money. He left us sitting there in the cold while he fussed around and was making calls to we don't know who but supposedly the Owner. We refused to pay more and got a larger room. Not once were we offered a mint tea in this whole period. No hospitality at all. Then that next morning the Male Belgian owner said a quick helllo but ONLY to ask us to if we needed his assistance with shopping and perhaps eat lunch at his other business? Are you joking?. There was no one else staying. It was lonely and cold. If you wanted to get in or out of the building you had to wake up the house-boy who gave me a filthy look when woken. We stayed two nights and on the night before our departure I went to reception to 1) check if I had already paid and if not to pay, 2) arrange an early morning call (for catching a flight) and, 3) arrange an early morning breakfast to be served BEFORE we left for the airport. The man didn't know whether I had pre-paid or not through LateRooms so I paid him. He confirmed that he would arrange for my early morning call and breakfast. I re-iterated the time and what my requirements were. All was agreed. But no, no morning call. Not a sound dowstairs when I awoke. It was me who went downstairs late to find the house-boy snoring so I had to wake him up to get out the front door (as it was locked and I could not exit without him opening it). He gave me a filthy look and never apologised. So, no morn

A nice riad, not too far from the main square Djeema al Fnar and also very handy for the palaces and Bains de Marrakech. The staff were all very helpful and obliging. Unfortunately (and absolutely out of control of the riad owners) at the time of our visit, the only alleyway in and out from the riad was being completely dug up, to the extent that it was impossible to leave for about 15 minutes when we checked out. When we finally did escape the workmen had to pass our bags across the 3 metre deep ravine! Don't expect Moroccan roadworks to comply with EU regulations!! These works also caused us to be without water for a whole afternoon of our stay.Overall, it was a nice place to stay with nice people. Even at Laterooms prices, it is expensive for what you get. However, as we discovered later during our stay, this is true of all riads in Morocco. Don't expect European boutique hotel finish or quality, but here you will get a taste of the authentic Marrakech city living experience.

Fantastic place - staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. They all speak very good English. The hotel was absolutely spotless and the rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and spotlessly clean. The location was excellent - in the medina but away from the madding crowd. No distance to the main square. The staff were on hand 24 hours a day. Food and service excellent. Breakfast served from 8.30-12.00 was excellent. - lovely roof terrace - Laurent (the owner) was very happy to organise/recommend tours for us and recommend and book us into restaurants and even get us discounts. Taxi to the airport arrived perfectly on time which Laurent had arranged for us. All in all I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

Very good experience, wonderful, to be recommanded. The managers are european but very well introduced locally. So they can help you to find a craftsman, a guide, a good restaurant etc, everything you need to enjoy your trip. They are very pleasant and welcoming The riad is inside the old city near the main monument and the Jamaa el Fna place. It is a nice place, really.

This renovated Riad is excellently situated in Marrakech, within easy walking distance of almost everywhere you would want to visit. The Riad is managed by a French couple, who are happy to book day trips, excursions and restaurants on your behalf. The day-to-day running is expertly and courteously handled by the genial Joseph, for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble. We breakfasted on the terrace every morning and our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. We can thoroughly recommend this Riad and have only the following cautionary advice - try to contact the Riad in advance and get them to book a car to bring you from the airport when you arrive. It will cost you 150 dirhams but you will probably never find the place otherwise. The Medina is a maze that we only started to get the hang of towards the end of our visit. The other piece of advice is bring earplugs. The Riad is very quiet, but Marrakech has around 500 mosques and the first call to morning prayer is at 5.15am. I shouldn't think anyone in the city can avoid hearing it. You should enjoy your stay at this Riad - we certainly did!

a little gema very nice riad close to the centre of town.lovely roof terrace and breakfast was served whenever you oasis away from the busy streets outside but close to two very good bars and some interesting shops away from the main square.the only down side was a twist path leading to the front door which could put you off but once inside all is forgiven.very helpful staff make this a good choice for first time visitors.
