I booked this hotel for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary (renewal ceremony) for Labor Day weekend and it was absolutely FABULOUS!!! Had never stayed or played @ the Riviera, but after this stay, I will definitely be back. The hotel is being remodeled and the new rooms are incredible! Definitely 4 or 5 star quality. I was in a standard (updated) room, and it had all the amenities of a 5 star room. The beds were incredibly comfortable, plasma t.v., ipod dock alarm clock, marble/granite counters on the dresser and bathroom. The ultimate luxury for the price!! It was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I would recommend thsi hotel to anyone. It was a great weekend! =)

Absolutely lacking customer service. We stayed in the Monarch Tower with a lovely view from a very clean and comfortable room. But the staff is definitely lacking knowledge on how to treat their guests and knowledge of there hotel and casino. I really liked the casino but because of the way we were treated we will not go back. They need to go through customer service classes.

We stayed at the Riviera because of attending a show in the hotel but will look for another next year. Shower would go from hot to cold every time we used it. There wasn't a coffee pot in the room (hotel policy) and coffee bars were a long way from our room and they had long lines. The fan and air were very noisy and if we opened the window there were at least 6 spot lights outside and trucks backing up all night long. The restaurants had long lines and unless you can plan to make reservations find a restaurant someplace else. The snack bars were expensive and always had long lines. Everything in the hotel is far from everything. To check in, we had to go between three long distances, back and forth, up and down, and even more if you want valet parking or a bell cap. Last year we stayed at the Hilton, and it was great, especially as it is on the monorail that goes down the strip, so will consider it next year.

A good choice for accessibility from Downtown / Fremont St. to the new sights and sounds. Easy access to I-15 which came in handy for trips out to the Dragstrip which was the reason for the trip. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the beds were the best I've slept on in a Hotel. Micro-fridge was great for those large leftovers. The only thing missing was a coffee pot/microwave. Unexpected charges for the safe even though it was not used were resolved with ease at the front desk. I was dissappointed that the Vallet service was constantly full or closed the entire 4 day stay, but the parking garage was close and convenient to tower 4 enough so that one with disabilities would have no trouble at all making their way to their vehicle.

The hotel was great rooms where very clean, a few things that where not the best.... the time share ppl(but that was in every hotel), and it was about 2.5miles from the south strip.... i do highly recommend to anyone spend the money for the bus THE best way to get around ($3 one way, $7 for 24hrs, and i think $13 for 3 days per person)

Super staff, we missed our flight connection and arrived the next date to great service and open arms. Great swimming pool, 9' dip, much better than 4 other hotels we have stayed in Vegas. Is in the strip, easy to take the Deuce and go all over the place. Great rooms and service.

Clean and we got a free upgrade. Parking was completely out of the way compared to the check in. The hotel was nice and clean, the staff was helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The only downfall was the parking lot was really far away from the main entrance of the hotel. I would certainly stay there again in the future.

I am not sure if I should really comment as I stayed in this hotel for only one night. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom was not that good. It was very small and I was a bit uncomfortable there. Overall the room was ok. Perhaps I could get a better one.

The Riviera is one of the oldest hotels on the end of the strip and furnishings are pretty much outdated. There is nothing close as far as good restaurants or things to do. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean but not much else was good about the hotel. Limited dining options and poor quality food.

The Riviera Hotel is a great place to stay, the casino wasn't shoulder to shoulder when you wanted to play. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were recently redone. My room had a king bed with a wonderful down top. My only negative is that there are no coffee pots in the rooms; but I knew that before my arrival as I have stayed in the Hotel beore and it is one that I perfer. The food in the each place we ate was good. The hotel is near one end of the strip but within walking distance of a number of different casinos; if you prefer not to walk you can catch a bus and be sure to get the 24 hour pass. Las Vegas is my favorite place to visit.

They should have a microwave in the room, which helps the customers who are on a particular diet plan. Also there is no supply of drinking water, they should at least have a drinking water fountain in each floor.

We frequent Vegas about 3-4x/yr and we love the Riviera because we gamble directly across the street at Slots-A-Fun. It's also on the strip so you can walk anywhere! It's definitely better than staying at Circus Circus which is a joke! If you're in Vegas just for gambling and shows and not for luxury, Riviera is a perfect place to stay and it's affordable! You can't compare Riviera to Venetians or Caesars, you get what you pay for but if you don't care about the luxurious stuff then Riviera is perfect! We don't go to Vegas to sleep in or have room service, we go to Vegas to gamble and enjoy the scenery and strips!

We were pleasantly surprised by the updated rooms. The only thing that threw us off is that we checked in after 4pm and no more double beds were available, just king size beds. They were able to provide cots, but if this had been a group of friends that might have been awkward (we were traveling with family). Anyway, we didn't eat at any of the restaurants on site so we can't vouch for those. It's at the very northern part of the strip, so it's a trek from the main strip, but otherwise it was great. Limits at the casino tables are low, so my brothers enjoyed that.

I had never stayed at the Riveria before but did visit it years before. Our first experience was bad and then became worse. We had to ask three different people how to get to Valet parking. The first man said just drive up around that corner and you can have someone take your car. The second man was sitting behind a desk and just shouted at us that we could not park there and mumbled some directions to Valet. Once we got to Valet we were greeted by some fairly nice people, and gave us some directions to check in. Once we figured out the machine that we checked us in. We just wanted to go to our room. We were bombarded by a woman who asked us if we would like to see a show, we thought it was part of the Riviera, which it was not, It was a come see our property and sit threw a lecture and we will give you some tickets, but not just yet, You give us $40.00 of which you will be refunded when you show up. Then we went down to the Casino and had the hardest time getting a cocktail waitress, so we went to the Bar and paid for our drinks, but we were met by a crabby and rude bartender who said she didn't know what to tell us about the watress situation, once again we went back to playing and we had to ask for a waitress three times, and were told by her that she wasn't our waitress but would find us one. Well about an hour later we finally got ONE drink. The rooms were ok but not spectacular. Wall paper was peeling off the walls and the carpet was smelly and old.

We actually stayed in 2 different hotels so that we could compare (Monte Carlo and Riviera). Riviera is not very high-end from outside or even the lobby, but once you enter your room you are invited by comfort as well as a flat screen TV. The new beds were like slepping on clouds! The only downside is if you want to be on the "new" side of the strip, you need to rent a car. DON'T WALK...too long! The Monte Carlo...well, nice inviting lobby and grounds, but once you enter your room it is flash back to the early to late 90's. Beds were hard, and still had a tube TV! Don't judge a book by its cover...

This Hotel is situated perfectly across from family themed venues in case you're traveling with children, as well as being a casino that caters to the more mature crowd. It has a great big pool with daytime hours and several places to find what you want to eat. Don't forget to visit the Magic Shop, too. I wish they would put in a jacuzzi for the late hours, though.

When we arrived to check in at 4PM there was a 2-3 hour line. When we went back at 9PM, there was still a 2-3 hour wait. There was apparently a teachers convention in town and although I would expect a bit of a wait due to the increase in people staying there, you would think they would anticipate additional people checking in and have more the 4 windows open. Bad service, bad management, no one to give direction to confused visitors (the line stretched around the hotel, elevators and was not roped or sectioned off) and employees who contradicted each other with statements every 2 minutes. Room was very smokey and not exactly clean. Cheaper is not always better but you get what you pay for. I don't think I will be back, regardless of price.

I spent 4 nights in the Monaco Tower. Room had been recently remodeled. Even with super low rate, I was able to check in to Monaco Tower. Check in was swift with there automatic kisok and you could select which tower to stay in. For transportation to other places on the strip, just go over to Hilton and catch the mono-rail. Self-parking garage was great also. Don't let someone else's negative review keep you from staying here. I found staff to be friendly & helpful also.

I had an absolutely abhorring experience here, this hotel is scary dangerous and unsafe! I booked 15 nights and by day 1 I was continually harassed catcalled etc with degrading remarks BY HOTEL EMPLOYEES! I filed a report with security who was untrustworthy and physically pushed me around. Some of my belongings are missing and they are no help. Please be safe and dont stay here! I have not been refunded for the unused portion of my stay and surprise surprise theyre being completely uncooperative. STAY AWAY!!

I was very surprised and impressed that the hotel was such high quality despite it's age and price. It was on the far end of the strip, though it was not too inconvenient. The Riviera is the perfect place to stay if you want somewhere nice and on the Strip but do not want to pay a fortune. The rooms and amenities were nice and made the stay quite pleasurable. I loved the new pillow top mattress and pillows. The refrigerator was nice to have in the room. I liked having a table and chairs like last year. It's the only thing I missed about the remodel. I missed having the dinner buffet. The service staff was great. Check-in and check-out was efficient and easy. The room was very comfortable. I was there for a decorative painting convention. The location of the classrooms was as convenient as possible. The new coffee/snack stand in the hallway was a plus.

I enjoyed the pool. The beds and bedding were cheap. Well, the room had no view, which was disappointing. The taxi dispatch was awful upon departure on Sunday morning. All in all the Riviera Hotel was average which would explain the reasonable cost. The odd things about the hotel and my room was that the pool closed at 7pm which i've never seen or experienced before at a hotel and the other thing was the toilet in my room was 4 inches from the bathroom door hitting it (right in the swing path). Also the cable channels were very limited and the pay channels were very limited for family viewing.

Location and recent room re-model. Window view was atrocious, & it was only 1/3 of back wall-could've been 2/3 window. Old Vegas charm, affordable, great location. My overall experience was good, with some great folks working there but one guy at the sport's book was over-the-top unpleasant.

I have stayed here before and it's a nice hotel. That said, it does not offer many of the perks that I have come to appreciate from other, less expensive, hotels. I found it difficult to understand a hotel that boasts about its fine meeting facilities and such, does not offer free wi-fi either in the lobby or in the hotel rooms. The phone charges that I would have incurred, had I chosen to use dial-up would have been out of line for just routine email and business. I did chose to pay the fee that the hotel charges to use their wi-fi service for one day, but truly feel in today's work environment and in a facility that wants business travelers to stay with them, there needs to be an area that would allow for free access. I also feel that the area that was set up for business travelers to access the internet, via the hotel's computers(internet cafe), was overpriced. I merely needed to log on to print my boarding pass and was charged over $5.00. Overall, had my meetings not been located at the Riviera, it would not have been my choice of hotels to stay at in Vegas.

Remodeled rooms with great beds. No coffee maker in room. Riviera is at the north end of the strip and a bit removed from the craziness. But Circus is right across the street (great for families and free circus act shows) and the bus is an easy way to get anywhere. The hotel has done a nice job of renovating the rooms and preventing noises (other rooms, halls, etc.) from carrying.
