General Description

The Royal Dublin Hotel is centrally located along the lively O’Connell Street, lined with impressive Georgian buildings, restaurants, theatres and shops. The River Liffey and Dublin’s famous Ha’penny Bridge are a short stroll away. Within walking distance are also Trinity College, home of the illuminated Book of Kells and of course, Temple Bar, Dublin’s cultural centre brimming with arts, culture and a vibrant nightlife. The bedrooms feature modern furniture and decor that is a blend of warm neutral tones and bright colours. Although there is a large number of restaurants and bars located at the area, the Royal Dublin Hotel also houses a restaurant and bar for those who enjoy in-house dining. The Cafe Royal Brasserie offers a range of international and traditional Irish dishes served within an elegant atmosphere, while the Raffle’s Bar provides a more informal dining experience, a perfect place to unwind after a long day.

Small and noisey rooms. Stayed there early July and returned late July a day earlier than our reservations and the Hotel was full so we moved around the corner to another Hotel and decided to cancel our next day's reservation so we didnt need to move again the next day. The duty manager would not accept our cancellation as we were 30 minutes too late !. We had until 5 PM to cancel and we cancelled at 5:30...he would not bend.
Save yourselves a headache...just stay around the corner at the Jury's Inn...nicer rooms..cleaner...better service...for the same price.

If you're travelling to Dublin or have before, YOU WANT TO BE IN CITY CENTRE, DUBLIN 1. I've travelled to Dublin over 10 times but this trip was for the Dublin Marathon and it was the first time I've stayed at this hotel. Friendly staff, spotless bedroom and extremely quiet. They have rooms at the front and back of the hotel, with the Executive Rooms being at the back. Either request a back room or spend the little bit extra to guarantee yourself a great night's sleep. Food was great and enjoyed everything about this hotel, especially walking out the front door and being right on O'Connell Street, Dublin's "main street".

Location was great, easy walking, safe but Dublin is a big city so be careful. We had a great time and due in a large part to the friendly staff. Rooms in city hotels are never huge it was fine, clean and modern. Bathroom was practically new & had a 110v converter. Noise was never a problem even with window open. We would stay again & recommend to others.

Stayed here middle of March for 5 nights.

I want go give all curious people a correct advice. DONT STAY HERE!!!!

I have never in my whole life experienced a worse hotell than Best Wester Royal Dublin.

Location is great in the very heart of Dublin but apart from that. NO, NO, NO and again NOOO.

Staff at the hotel really should be sent to a school where they learn how to become friendly to the hotel customers. They have never every heard of the word "service". Example first day of our stay:

Went to the reception. Asked if they had adapter for my laptop (since Ireland is using diffrent electricity)

Woman in reception answers "Five euro deposit"

My answer: "I didnt bring any cash from my room, can you put in on my room and I will pay you the deposit when i check out if I dont return the adapter"

Woman in reception "No, bring the cash and you get the adapter"

Fantastic, dont you think?!

So, dont ever stay here. This was a nightmare experience. I got the opinion that I SHOULD BE HAPPY to stay in their hotel. What a joke.

Dont think I will ever visit Ireland again after this disaster stay.
