General Description

Unique features include the acclaimed Asia de Cuba restaurant, wildly popular Light Bar, and interactive light displays in every Guest Room that encourage guests to personalize their own individual space, and help to turn the hotel into a beautiful and ever changing mosaic of color. Framing sweeping views of central London, the 204 guest rooms, private garden rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows, an eclectic mix of Philippe Starck designed furniture and a one-of-a-kind interactive light installation, allowing guests to ?light their mood? from a full spectrum of vibrant colors controlled from a dial next to the headboard. Special Garden Rooms have private patios lushly planted with camellia trees, clematis and climbing ivy. For global travelers with a cultured palate and a love of variety, Asia de Cuba, overseen by renowned international restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, combines elements of Asian and Cuban cuisine served sharing-style in a high energy, sophisticated, yet relaxed environment. Housed in a dramatically colonnaded space, Asia de Cuba has adapted the famous dishes for Bento Boxes, perfect for lunch or pre-theatre; and Afternoon Tea is served daily offering two varieties of Asian or Eurasian teas. The Rum Bar, with its Starck-designed 'lean-on' tables, is an interesting modern play on the classic English Pub while The Light Bar is a unique and breathtaking space that takes the concept of atmospheric lighting to new heights. Guests gather to sip the now famous cocktails, such as Passion Fruit Martini, Tropical or Vanillan Cairpirinha, Strawberry Cheesecake and Pink Lychee Champagne, snack on Asia de Cuba delights and chat in a series of cozy niches that are bathed in warmly vibrant shafts of colored light - pink, orange, violet, and green.

Outstanding service and great aesthetics. Room was incredibly small. Great modern hotel in a fantastic London location central to most attractions and to the tube. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpfull!

Great service, efficient and friendly. Excellent dinner at Asia de Cuba. Well appointed room. Great breakfast. Given the style and decor of the hotel, the small old 'tube' style TV rather than a flat screen and decent Hi-Fi system was surprising - you even get that in the City Inn.

The bed linens, bath towels and bath products were all superior. The hallways were very dark , the carpets stained and the lobby furniture wasn't comfortable. This is a very funky place...you'll either really like it, or detest it. I found the location highly desirable...lots of nearby theatre and restaurants, close to the underground station, taxis right outside the door at all hours, and a terrific restaurant (Asia de cuba) in the hotel itself. I found the complete lack of natural light in hallways, elevators and the lobby bar a bit disconcerting and the lobby furniture is pretty trippy. My room was quite small, but comfortable nonetheless. They let me check in early, which was great after an international flight. Having wireless network access was convenient, but very pricey at about $30USD/24-hour period. All in all, the hotel was fine, but I certainly wouldn't call it a 5-star hotel.

Centrally located and convenient to all of the places we wanted to go. The staff was friendly and the concierge was especially helpful and knowledgeable. There were four of us and we had a room with 2 double beds. Beds were big enough to accommodate us and comfortable. You can walk to Tralfalgar Square, Leicester Square and Covent Gardens--all less than 5 minutes away. 3 minute walk to Charing Cross Train Station

This is a wonderful hotel - it's more like your own apartment in the centre of London than a hotel room. Cool, calm, beautifully serene. From the outside it doesn't look like a hotel, but from the minute you step in the door you are looked after by wonderful staff. Really, really lovely hotel. Would recommend it to everyone.

Clean Modern Trendy Central Too Cool St. Martin's Lane Hotel was fun. It was a bit too hip for me and the TV were small. The in room amenities that could be purchased were way too expensive ($35.00 for a baseball cap) Phone calls to US were $7.00 per minute.Otherwise, the hotel served for location, modern conveniences, cleanliness and service.

Young fresh and fancy people worked at the hotel. Good atmosphere despite the minimalistic design.

Great location and great place for people watching in the bar. Excellent service, arrived early and they found us a room straight away which was great.

Attentive, friendly service. Awful beds, hard, cheap spring mattress on a platform foundation. This is a hotel popular with fashioners. Conveniently located in the heart of London near Trafalgar Square, this trendy, modern hotel has great bathrooms but small rooms featuring very uncomfortable beds. A luxury hotel could do better in the bed department. The restaurant menu is designed only for couples and larger parties - a single portion is too large for one individual.

Room decor was different than all other hotels. Noisy on the street outside. Cool place to stay with good location, modern stylish rooms and lobby, good restaurant and young helpful staff. I would definitely recommend.
