After leaving my son in Rome with his study group, I opted for an adventure of the Amalfi Coast thinking Naples would be a great starting point. After seeing a woman robbed of her crucifix while chatting with a priest,as soon as I got off the train, I thought...."Oh Lord, what have I gotten into?" Well fter a very dicey cab ride (from a gypsy driver)(use only marked cabs!) I arrived at the hotel. What an Oasis I found! The pictures do not do jusice to this former montessory (sp?) as It is built into the cliffs overlooking the city. You can take the cable car down to the amazing piazza below or just enjoy the most amazing pool/view I have ever seen overlooking the entire city while Vesuvius (sp?) looms in the distance. On a clear day, Capri can be seen as well as Sorrento across the water. The rest is over the top and also is roof top. Stay here, you'll be safe and amazed at the charm and splendor this gem has to offer. Capri is a great day trip by the jetboats down by the castle! I opted for 1 day in Capri and the other day lounging at this perfect pool. This is the first review I have ever written as my schedule never allows for it but I wanted to take the time to save you from staying anywhere near the train station. Naples is ok during the day but bunker down at night! Stay on the mainstreets! And, I'm a big guy! Have fun and enjoy this place as much as I did!!!!!!!!!
