General Description

Within every great city exists a core area where the demands of business and the desire for leisure come together. In Venice, St. Mark’s Square plays that role, and here you will find a small all-suites of great character and charm. The San Marco Palace offers the comfort of a home away from home and each of the 26 suites features individually controlled thermostat, minibar, 25-inch television with satellite channels, radio, direct-dial telephone, in-room fax on request, safe, bathtub and/or shower. Balcony and terrace with view of St. Mark’s Belltower on request. Each morning you are greeted with a rich buffet breakfast; two meeting rooms provide our guests a gorgeous ambience, featuring the most modern technical equipment. The rooms are all huge and new suites, best location in Venice and the daily complimentary breakfast is superb. Strongly Recomended.

Not all rooms a suites, the standard room is only as big as a king size bed and limited walking room with a seperate bathroom. Not located on San Marco square but a short distance away. No views from the rooms. There are better hotels in the area for the price. The Breakfest was good and we paid a significant upgrade we did receive a nice suite that was clean and secure.

While the location of this hotel couldn't be beat, the service was a little sketchy. Front desk staff spoke english, but seemed to want to rush you through your requests, or try to push you off to the next shift. The room was nice and big with a kitchenette and lots of closet space, but the bathroom was plain weird... almost like a hospital bathroom. Warning, ladies, the hair dryers are those types with the hoses attached to the wall, it will take an hour to dry your hair. And, there's a weird odor in the hallways and we could tell that our room at one time used to be a smoking room. We brought a few smelly candles so that helped in our room. The free breakfast is very nice, and so convenient. Again, the location is right on San Marco Square, so it's definitely great to be so close to all that Venice has to offer.

I booked a junior suite this summer for * euros for one night. When I finally arrived with my family (wife & 2 young kids) at 7PM. They bumped up the price to ** euros, told me to take it or leave it. I had no choice but to put it on my card. They made me sign for the key at the higher price and travel agency was unable to get them to honor the original deal. They used the old bait and switch. Pure robbery.
