Very friendly staff. A clean room, but a little bit dated. Very quiet location, even though it's above a pub! Don't let that put you off.

Excellent HotelWe booked this hotel after reading online reviews. We were very impressed by the cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable receptionist and the efforts she went to to help us with our visit. The room was lovely and would highly recommend this hotel.

Great place to stayThe location is superb, quite and close to the sights. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, and found me a room prior to the normal check-in time. The room, though a little small, was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom spacious and very clean. Excellent toiletries. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will definitely stay there again for my London visits.

Suprisingly lovely. quiet room, nice size, comfy bed, in Cental London. WOW. Have been in the pub below it many a time, but didnt know it had rooms. Well worth staying there. Clendiness was beyond usual British stanards , White linin imaculate, bed comfy, no road noise.

The hotel is in a brilliant central location literally minutes from Westminster, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye etc and just a slightly longer but lovely walk through St James and Green Park to Picadilly/Oxford/Regent Street. We had lunch in the pub downstairs when we got there but wasn't impressed, so we gave breakfast a miss and ate at one of the many cafes just round the corner opposite the underground station. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff are friendly and helpul so we would stay there again.

Excellent location!!! At the end of the road is Westminster Abbey. The floors are creeky and the rooms are small but have everything you need. I would definitely stay here again as you can't beat the location. Free parking at weekends right outside. Pub below isn't noisey and is very welcoming. We had a great weekend and will be back!

Average hotel, but excellent location; close to Big Ben and Westminster. Foreign staff not knowledgeable about London. Rooms okay, clean and quite. Only dinning option is pub downstairs; not many places for dinner within walking distance.

This was my first trip on my own with my five year old. The staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome even sending complimentary hot chocolates up to the room because we had both been soaked in the rain. I would book this hotel again next time it was very centrally located yet felt peaceful and safe and the room itself was lovely.. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who asked. Excellent!

I was a little worried about a Hotel above a pub, but this hotel was wonderful. For the price, you get a clean and suprisingly spacious room by Euro standards, and you really could not beat the location (five minutes walking distance to Big Ben). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Whe we arrived our room had been allocated to another person with a similar name so that the room we were initially shown was below the standard paid for. As our roomhad been given away we were lucky to get a better standard room, but it appeared much smaller than the pictures shown on the web and in brochures. The bed was excellent. We were questionned at breakfast time regarding whether we were eating a breakfast that had not been paid for and I had to explain the position. When booking out we had to tell the story again. The receptionist changed the story given the previous day saying that we had our original room, as booked, but I can't see how, our room was set out for one person (dressing gow, towels). Apart from the mix up, the quality of furnishings was very good and the breakfast too. A good part of London to stay.

I can't say enough about the terrific staff. They were very friendly and helpful. If you want to be in the heart of Westminster this is the place. Easy walk to Buckingham Palace, Parliament, London Eye and of course Westminster Abbey. Also the Underground is two tiny blocks away. No need for cabs or buses if you stay here. Very charming decor, small hotel feel with big hotel amenities. You really feel like you are in London. I stayed in a room with two twin beds, and at 5'5" the bed felt a bit small. Despite that I had a great night's sleep. Next time I'm in London I will stay there.

What a pleasant surprise! The Sanctuary House was so cute, and in a fabulous location. It's nothing glamourous, but clean and spacious. Staffers were helpful before and during our stay, and the price beat most. Great for anyone wanting a nice, safe hotel to stay at while visiting London. Close to everything, including two tube stops. They even had a little pub on the ground floor of the hotel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was a short overnight stay for my wife and I as we were attending a business function and therefore, we spent little time in the hotel itself. We arrived at different times; I checked in first and having travelled from Reception to the fourth floor with a suitcase and only 20 minutes to shower and change, I found that the room key didn't work! back down to Reception where the receptionist whilst helpful, wasn't too concerned (she was checking in another guest!).The room was fine - clean and spacious for London; it was a superior double so one would hope that it would be. Took me a while to find the aircon controls and to realise that a wall heater operated independently from the aircon - and had a separate switch!!The bed was large - a modern four-poster - and comfortable BUT....... I was obviously in the room that someone who wrote an earlier review stayed in! The mattress was not one double mattress but two singles, therefore, there was a 'ridge' in the middle of the bed - not good news and uncomfortable in the middle of the night. The bathroom was more than adequate with a good shower. Breakfast the next morning was well-cooked (I had the full English) and the service was friendly and efficient. The hotel is in a very good location for visitors wanting to be in walking distance of the River Thames, Westminster, the London Eye, Whitehall, and Trafalgar Square and it is a short taxi ride from Victoria Station.

A great location, had no problem getting there. The room was very comfortable and decor of a high standard. Only bothered once by creaky floorboards and could not get hot water in the afternoon. However all-in-all really good value and would stay htere again.

Wedding day stopoverWe needed a room to change into formal outfits for a friend's wedding at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. We also needed a room for the night before travelling home the day after the wedding. The Sanctuary House Hotel fit the bill perfectly. We hailed a cab easily outside and after the celebrations, had a drink in the hotel pub. Staff were friendly and helpful and didnt seem to mind that we were sipping in our wedding finery!A nice hotel, small and friendly, clean, nice condition. We didnt eat there, so cannot comment about food.

Service and location were good. Rooms were clean and adequate although they could do with a bit of updating and the TV reception and choice of channels was poor. The price was very reasonable for a London hotel
