The room was small but comfortable and very clean. The location was good, everything in walking distance. The only thing I did not like about the Hotel was the staff. They were ruled and unhelpful.

3 friends traveling together, the jr. suite made it very comfortable for all of us. The room was beautifully clean every day and the carpet was pretty new and very clean. The entirely smoke free hotel was exactly what we wanted and our room smelled like nothing - exactly what we wanted. The hotel is kind of old, but very nicely decorated and the staff was very nice and always available to help. There was no TV remote when we got there, but when we told them the next morning, there was one there when we got back from exploring. The surronding area was fun and the people were all very nice. A short walk to Times Square was good, we had a quieter neighborhood to stay in.

The Skyline hotel is a great value. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cheap! If I opted to go for a cheaper hotel in New York, I'd have to share a bathroom. Which is unacceptable to me. It is in a great location, easy to get to Times Square, Greenwhich Village and my favorite Restaurant Row!

This is the best place to stay in the City. Location is great; within walking distance from the subway, Broadway, and Rockafeller Center. The room I was in was very large, especially for NYC standards. The price was great. An excellent place!

I stayed at Skyline Hotel (New York)during four nights, I really dissapointed with the hotel. Years ago this hotel was fantastic, I really know that, but in this time... no! First: Its Overpriced. The hotel has unclean instalations (specially the pool) and has a ugly staff. In my room the WC: broken... there wasnt hot water... and had a lot of noise at night (like horses having sex... thats It). Simply my review: Bad Hotel...

There were 3 of us and we did pay for the extra person when we booked. They gave us a junior suite!! Very nice. The rooms (bedroom and sitting/tv rooms) were both large and clean. Hotel staff was very helpful and knowlegeable about the city. Got tickets to sites, theaters and subway in the hotel lobby - from their very helpful staff, all the ticket's face price. We were more than happy. I recommend this hotel.

Had to stay overnight in Manhattan at short notice because of bad weather (had theater ticket). This was the best place I could find at a reasonable (for Manhattan) price at last minute. It turned out to be a great choice. The room was large and comfortable, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the location was excellent--very convenient to theaters, good restaurants and post-theater nightlife. I would definitely stay here again if I need (or want) to stay overnight in Manhattan (and I will use their parking garage regularly on visits to town--reasonably priced compared to others in the neighborhood.) I will recommend this hotel to out-of-town friends planning to visit NYC.

I was concerned when I booked it, because I knoew nothing about this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. It was clean, roomy, and the staff was nice and helpful. We will stay there again. The only negatives were that the tv and airconditioner sometimes were not working properly, but it was really not an issue for us.

This is a nice hotel...the rooms were clean and all but 2 staff members were very nice-the male conceirge was snotty and rude and 1 clerk was rude at check in. The others at check in were super nice and we avoided the conceirge the rest of the time. The bellhops were very helpful as were the guys in the parking lot! The only complaint we had were the pool hours...they are very strange-only open 7a-8:45a and 5p-9:45p...and when the kids went up to see the pool, there was an open party room which had alcohol laying around and a bed/stage with money on it and chairs around it-fun explaining that one to them! We would stay there again-it was easy to hail your own taxi and wasn't far from Times Square...for being in Hell's kitchen it was a nice area and clean. This was definitly a good place to stay.

it didn't look great when we approached it, but the lobby was beautiful and the room was small, pretty clean, and comfortable. can't beat the 10 dollar parking, and a short walk to the lincoln center and times square. for the money, you can't beat it and we would definitely stay here again

The Skyline Hotel is a great place to stay if you are looking to stay in the Midtown Manhattan area on a budget. The room was a great value and very comfortable. Cleanliness and upkeep were also surprisingly good. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant or the fitness center, so I can't comment on those. The only downsides were the extremely small pool filled with children taking swimming lessons every day I was there, and the pay as you go internet service.

The pluses: much bigger room and comfortable beds for what I expected to get for the price; great location (easy walk to bars, nightclubs, restaurants on Manhattan's West side); very close to Theatre District; and lots of public transportation options; very fast check-in and easy check-out. The minuses: the penthouse pool was like a kid's backyard vinyl pool stuck in a poorly ventilated penthouse. The views were great, but the water didn't even feel clean like it was missing chlorine and it was only open 5-10 PM, so if you have dinner or theatre plans, you'll never get to use it. The concierege was not very helpful with transportation or events. The one restaurant in the hotel has menu with limited to unappealing choices (although a great bar and a fantastic bartender). There is no coffeemaker in the room! Shouldn't that be standard in this day and age? I know I can get coffee on any city block in Manhattan but I shouldn't even have to leave first thing in the morning to get coffee. And the hotel never informed us of the major street excavation and construction project happening outside our window: who needs an alarm clock? Good morning! I would be more enthusiastic about returning if the prices were more budget rate and not modest...in New York City terms rate.

the air conditioner seemed to have trouble cooling the room, so we opened the window, but since the window didn't have a screen, a huge bug flew in. We called the front desk to come get it and they arrived in less than two minutes! But the room had a refrigerator, was a good size with two double beds and room to walk around them, and the bathroom was spotless-old fashioned tile floor to ceiling and clean grout.

The Skyline was perfect for our trip based on its location. We attended two Broadway shows, went shopping, sightseeing, and dining all within walking distance of the hotel in a safe neighborhood. We took the subway very easily to Chinatown and Battery Park to go to Ellis Island. The staff were phenomenal and assisted us perfectly. The room was quite comfortable and clean. Two thumbs up for the Skyline.
