General Description

The Sleep Inn West Asheville offers standard, no-frills accommodations in western North Carolina's mountains. Guests will be able to reach downtown Asheville in approximately six miles, the Biltmore Estates in about seven miles, and the University of North Carolina at Asheville in approximately eight miles. Guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast with their room rate. While there is not a full service restaurant inside the hotel, there are dining destinations nearby. Local restaurants include Asiana Grand Buffet, Cracker Barrel, El Chapala, and Pizza Hut. For added convenience, this hotel offers meeting space, safe deposit boxes, copy and fax services, same-day laundry and dry cleaning valet, ice machines, and complimentary parking. The Asheville Regional airport is approximately 10 miles from the hotel. There are 74 rooms on three floors. Children 18 and under stay free in parent's room. Both non-smoking rooms and rooms equipped for the physically challenged are available upon request. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, alarm clock radio, coffeemaker, hairdryer, dataport telephone, voicemail, free local calls, television with HBO, and pay-per-view movies. Pets are allowed for a 25 fee.

The shower only unit was great. Not enough electrical outlets in room. We stayed at this hotel for four nights, the part of our vacation that we were visiting Asheville. The hotel was clean, safe and had a very friendly staff. It is reasonably accessible to Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic getaway - but is great for basic travel needs.

Very clean, nice room with friendly staff and good neutral location. It was in a very easy-to-find location, near equal distance to both Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville. Very friendly staff who were more than helpful to accommodate in any way requested, and was welcomed the next morning with a good continental breakfast. Highly recommended, especially to the business traveler.

Though I wasn't in the hotel long it was perfect for the quick vacation in the location (an easy drive into Asheville), as well as being a nice, clean room with a helpful staff. Check in and out was quick and easy.

I like the breakfast. I wish that it had a in door pool. It was nice ,clean and no loud doors or people.

My husband and i feel that the Sleep Inn hotel is a very good hotel and provides excellent value. We like the simplicity of it all. No fuss; always excellent service; great breakfast (by comparison to other similar hotels).

This hotel was wonderful~ a short drive to downtown, clean room, nice breakfast (though there is so much to eat in Asheville!!), and friendsly/helpful staff. The only criticism I have is that the bathroom door is too thin and allows the person in the room to hear sounds from within the bathroom. The rest of the room was so nice that this was hardly a problem. But it was a large shower for certain!! Another point, which only occured once in a five night stay, was that a person was drag racing between the Wendy's and Waffle House parking lots that was directly below our room. Though this was not the hotel's fault. I would and am trying to stay again!

We recently stayed at the Sleep Inn in Asheville (10-23-08) and we were extremely pleased! Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful upon check-in and recommending restaurants and giving directions to the Biltmore Estate. During our stay, construction was going on right next door and the lady at the front desk made sure she put us as far away from the construction as possible so that was greatly appreciated. Room was very clean and even had a fridge and a microwave. We had a king bed and it was very comfortable. The shower is a stand up shower but is very large with a light in the shower itself. We enjoyed having a nice shower in a hotel. Although the hotel does have smoking rooms available, we stayed in a non-smoking room and it did not smell like smoke at all which was something we were afraid of. The hall on the other hand does have a smell but not 100% sure it was a smoke smell. The complimentary hot breakfast was excellent! Would definitely stay there again!! Excellent!

I have to admit that I'm a super picky about the hotels we stay in. I have a 2 year old daughter so cleanliness is more important than anything. I was so thrilled with this hotel and it was worth every penny. We got the king room so that our daughter could sleep between us. The room looked and smelled new! The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were great quality for a hotel. The carpet and the bathroom were completely clean and stainfree. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others!

This hotel was absolutely terrible. I traveled to Asheville for job interviews & actually had to check out and go to another hotel so that I could get some sleep. According to the manager (who was quite rude) the water heater had some sort of problem (which sounded like a jack hammer right outside the door from 3am - 5am). He then stated that this problem was not his fault but was the "cities fault" (not sure about that reasoning) & therefore he would not refund our $$ for the night.....

I left of course & checked into the Sleep Inn Biltmore (Hendersonville Rd) which was fabulous, QUIET, and had tempur-pedic beds which were wonderful for catching up on the sleep we lost the night before!!!

My husband and I passed through Asheville on our way to Myrtle Beach for vacation when we stopped at the Sleep Inn. It was a great deal! Rooms were nicely decorated and furnished. The bed was really comfortable, especially after eleven hours of driving that day! It also felt much more secure than some hotels we've stayed at in the past. We both agree that if we are ever in town again - this is where we want to stay. Thanks Sleep Inn for a wonderful night's rest!!
