The room was amazing, and the bed was better than at any other hotel I have ever stayed. I can't really think of anything. Our view wasn't that great, because it was an interior room. My husband and I had a great stay at this hotel we didn't want to leave! The bathroom was very spacious, the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The concierge gave several good suggestions of local restaurants. They also have a great 24/7 workout facility with very nice equipment. I highly recommend this hotel!

Our first night, we were given a smoking room, which smelled pretty horrible. We asked to change rooms, but were told the "hotel was booked solid". The carpets were run down and stained as well. Not exactly 4 star quality. The second night, we were switched to a non-smoking room, which was nicer. The front desk was apologetic, but I wish they had asked for our smoking preference at check in. Other than the above issues, the hotel is in a good location. For the amount of money paid, the rooms should have been nicer.

The aesthetic is beyond compare in DC. O The Sofitel has no equal in Washington. The staff has the European sensibility of authentic hospitality and kindness. It is my favorite hotel in the US.

Close to everything. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. One night we were just curious to see if we could borrow an RCA cable for our TV. The concierge said he would check and see if there was one available, but no luck. We thought nothing of it, and went back into our room only to hear a knock 2 minutes later with a maintenance man toting an RCA cable, explaining that it was the only one he could find. He told us to enjoy our stay. Now that's service. Thanks Sofitel!

This was not our first stay in a Sofitel and we looked forward to this vacation. We found the room clean but worn. The upholstery on the bench at the food of the bed was torn. The room was dimly lit. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful with great counter space, but there was only one sink. There were towels for one person (2 registered guests). There were no bathrobes in the room, and we received one bathrobe after calling and requesting robes (there were 2 guests registered in the room). At turndown, only one small bottle of water was left (2 registered guests). There were no rooms with views, and only smoking rooms were available when we checked in at 3 PM (we were given the option to wait but decided to check in. The room was clean and the only indication of it being a smoking room was the smell of other guests' smoke in the hallway). No coffee in room. We decided to skip eating in the hotel. Good location. Front desk employees and bellmen were very friendly and helpful. The bed was outstanding---almost as comfortable as our own bed!

Location and room. Parking fee. Close to White House and small enough so you can get to and from your room easily. Nice room and amenities. A good value at the price I paid. Do not use Food and Beverage.

This was our first trip to Washington D.C. and we were so lucky to pick the perfect hotel - the Sofitel Lafayette Square. This is a first rate hotel in the best walking location to all the sites. Two blocks from the Whitehouse and 4 blocks from the Washington Mall. The room, staff, restaurant and food were excellent. Service was A+ with nice little extras! Also close to outside restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again next time we're in D.C.

Large rooms, tub and shower, pull out sofa, feather bed. Busy street, valet parking only. Very friendly staff and helpful too. Restaurant and lounge separate. Beds have soft down bed toppers and down comforters in a Duvee. Generous pillows in size and quantity. Huge bathroom with separate shower and tub and large vanity sink. Nice work desk with outlets for recharging all your devices. No free internet but it is available for $10/day and they have a t mobile hot spot if you have an account with them. Just blocks from the white house. Alarm clock with radio and dongle to attach an mp3 player or any audio device with a headset jack output. Lots of art work everywhere. Very clean rooms and lobby. Bath robe and slippers. Huge closets that are in a separate room off the bathroom and not visible from seating area. Couch and chair with coffee table. Small twilight reading lamps on each side of bed that came are aimed for reading without interrupting others in the room with bright lamps or room lights.

Very Nice decor and public spaces. Mini bar and parking were expensive A first class hotel with very well laid out rooms, nice bathrooms, fancy lobby, good location near a train station, but no view to speak of.

This hotel was defintely a 10. It was clean, quiet, friendly, modern.....well, everything you would want in a hotel! All of our needs were met in a flash, we felt safe, the concierge was very helpful, and we even had a flat screen TV.The only down side of my experience was the cost of the hotel restaurant and room service. But, the quality was outstanding, and the service was great. But, expect to pay over 20 for eggs and bacon at the restaurant off the lobby. The location is outstanding! The White House is a block and a half away, there is a fabulous deli just a few doors down (Loeb's)....but they are only open during the week. There are lots of great restaurants within a short walking distance. The Metro is a block away. We felt VERY safe walking around the area in the evening. This hotel defintely deserves 5 stars!I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
