Attached to London Gatwick Airport's North Terminal by a short covered walkway, Sofitel London Gatwick is 2 minutes from the Gatwick Express rail link, which runs into central London. It is also within 30 minute drive of the coastal town of Brighton and within easy reach of attractions such as Hever, Windsor and Leeds Castles. Due to refurbishment, the hotel will not be able to offer its extensive leisure facilities until further notice. The hotel is conveniently linked with Gatwick's North Terminal. For guests travelling from the South terminal, the monorail provides a seamless 2-minute connection every few minutes. It is an 8-storey hotel that is modern both inside and out. La Terrace, the social hub of the hotel, offers light snacks in a stunning setting overlooking the hotel Atrium. The adjacent library provides an oasis of tranquillity in which to relax. La Brassiere is a contemporary restaurant featuring modern, European dishes in a relaxed stylish setting. Le Cafe is a cafe-style terrace in a vibrant and informal setting, reminiscent of a Parisian street, perfect for light all-day dining. Gatwick Oriental is part of the Ken Hom restaurant group, offering a selection of dishes from the Orient. The lobby is extremely modern and is built in an atrium style, with an overhead transparent footbridge, that joins the two wings of the hotel. It is light and Spacious, with ample seating and glass lifts. The rooms are plainly decorated and spacious, with climate control, flight information and all the usual facilities one would expect from a good 4-star property. All Standard bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, remote control television with satellite, pay-per-view movies, broadband Internet, tea/coffee-making facilities, radio, direct-dial telephone, laptop and fax point, mini-bar, iron and ironing board, trouser press, air conditioning and double-glazed windows. Royal Club rooms are situated on the 8th floor, with private check-in and check-out. They offer the same facilities as Standard rooms, plus an evening cocktail bar, full use of business facilities and 24-hour guest relation coverage. , There are also two specially designed handicap-accessible double-bedded rooms, with standard facilities plus wide doors and an adapted bathroom. 56 kms to the airport (heathrow), Centrally located, Close to the airport (gatwick), Close to the station (gatwick airport).

I found the hotel very nice, easy to reach, just to the left of the shuttle as you get to the north terminal. Breakfast is very expensive at 15-20 pound pp, but you do get alot, can easily be a shared breakfast.

Great hotelHigh quality hotel - looks and is good. Just opposite one of the Gatwick terminals, with car parking by the side of the hotel. Really a business hotel or for those travelling via Gatwick.

This was an excellent Hotel. The staff in particular were very friendly and efficient - a marked contrast to the Gatwick Hilton where they are incompetent and unskilled. Altogether a great Hotel except for the prices in the bars, restaurants and room service which is high (continental breakfast for 2 - £29!)

I'm almost afraid to tell you how great this hotel is because I want to be able to get a reservation next time I'm in London. Excellent - just excellent. Clean, comfortable, safe and convenient. Only downfall is the distance from the center of London. However, if you are traveling through Gatwick Airport, this is the hotel to stay in.

This is the kind of hotel were my wife and I never had to ask for anything...it was taken care of before we asked. Customer service was great, the room has all the modern aminities...we had a overall great expirence.

Hotel was right for my needs which centered mainly on getting easily to and from Gatwick Airport which is literally only 2-3 mins walk away. Hotel and staff were clean and efficient although the toilet in the bar upstairs from the lobby flooded badly and it took staff an unacceptably long time to even become interested in resolving.

I travel a lot for work, and usually stay in 4 star hotels in the UK and overseas. I was profoundly shocked by the level of rudeness and dismissive don't give a damn attitude by the management staff at the reception in this hotel on making a complaint. The manager I raised my concerns with smirked his way through my brief complaint and was clearly not interested or concerned about customer care, basic manners or bothering to pretend he cared. The hotel was convenient and very easy for a stopover, but next time I will be staying at the Hilton or other equally convenient Gatwick Hotel. In this day & age, rudeness by reception managers is simply not acceptable. I have now had 3 bad expereinces at this hotel. Extremely poor & rude service,dismissive managers; surely not what this Hotel or the start or end of travel experience is supposed to be about.

For One Night Only!Lovely room as close to Gatwick Northern terminal as you can get hence my decision to use if as a meeting venue for a customer flying into Gatwick - the rooms were very nice, as to be expected for the price tag (!), but I was horrified at the lack of attentiveness of the front desk staff who seemed to 'blank' queuing customers if it were likely to inconvenience them! Not what I'd expect from such a high brow brand.......

Unusually high quality in all respects for an airport hotel. Also a genuine Chinese Restaurant and a high quality but expensive breakfast, unless discounted. Acess by foot direct from terminal excellent.

Excellent Value, the late room rate was significantly cheaper and we were upgraded. The oriental restaurant is superb.
