The hotel (pub and night club with rooms upstairs) is very well situated just off the lake shore in Bowness. Access to the shops and pubs in Bowness is excellent. There is off site parking a couple of minutes walk away. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and friendly.The hotel is old fashioned (creaky floors and a bit run down), the heating was permanently on full in the corridors making it necessary to leave the window open all the time, there were cobwebs in the room and the kettle was full of old milk from a previous occupant. The beds were clean and comfortable. The problem with the hotel was the night club downstairs which was noisy as people left in the early hours of the morning and the bin men collecting the empty bottles etc at 6.30 in the morning.The hotel is fantastically situated and the food/bedrooms/staff are fine. However, with children the noise made the hotel not the right choice for us. If you are single/couple and enjoy your night life this is a great value hotel (2 adults 2 children B&B £70), but it is just too noisy with children. Would go back quite happily with the wife, but not with the kids until they are old enough to get in the disco.
