Second-time visitorThis was my second stay at this hotel, and I can't say that I was as impressed as the 1st time! It seems that the standard of the hotel has fallen a bit. We booked this hotel because last time we had a wonderful time, even though the room price seemed to be much higher now. The staff were not as friendly as last time and the dinner options at the restaurant, which previously left us quite impressed, were a bit disappointing. It is still far better than other city hotels I have been to, but it is a shame that they haven't managed to keep their high standard.

The 4* rating of this hotel is laughable. The rooms are well past their sell-by date and the hotel is in need of a complete renovation wiht the exception of the reception, bar and lounge which induce you to check in to find that the rooms are dreadful, and in some instances smell of drains. It took 2 of us a combined 3 moves before we were in a room which did not smell, and the duty manager was not sympathetic at all. It took an argument to get the moves. There is a hotel round the cornerf at half the price...
