Excellent helpful front desk. Attentive and respectful. Best location, can not beat the price for the accommodations. I have nothing negative to say. Try to check out the rooms on the 3rd floor! Beautiful relaxing garden for the morning coffee.

I have been going to south beach for over 10 years and have stayed in a variety of hotels and this was the worst. The room was dirty, i had trouble using my key every day and the staff were rude when I went to the front desk to complain. the continental breakfast was a joke.. had to stand and line forever and everything was rationed so I felt like I was in a soup kitchen. Avoid this hotel

This hotel is very chic looking. Rooms were a little dated but have a cozy feel. Furniture wasd a little warn and there were very few decorative elements in the rooms. Stellar lobby and GREAT location RIGHT in the heart of SOBE! Parking was a breeze thanks to the valet and well worth the $28/day to have ti parked. Driving in SOBE is a nightmare so, drop the car off and hoof it!

Upon checkin the front desk sent us to a room that was already in use. so we had to wait in a hot hall way for the front desk to come up and say the same thing it was in use, there system was not correct. then we got sent to another room, that was suppose to be an upgrade which was from a king size bed to a queen. and he doors never worked. they would not lock at all, maintenance had to come and fix it. then they only put enough towels out for one person, and i had to keep asking them to put them out for two. i would not stay at this hotel again.

This is a three star hotel. It is centrally located. The rooms were clean and it had a/c. The hotel is old so there is carpet in the rooms & hallways. The bath tub was chipped and worn out. I would recommend it to single people, on a budget, seeking to spend a few fun nights in SOBE. A little better that a hostel.

The South Beach Plaza is a nice hotel stay. Its not very lavish, but comfortable. For the price, especially in Miami Beach, its a good value. When you look at the entire place, its a slightly below mid-level hotel that, because of upkeep, creativity and attention, bumps itself up to above average. They do a good job of making mediocre feel plush and comfortable (can you say IKEA!). That said, I'd definitley recommend the hotel to a value conscious friend - not the one that likes high end! The room was very clean and seemed about average in size. There's a desk area and we had a flat screen TV in our room. I liked the fact that the bathroom had simulated marbel and a door-less, non-moving glass shower partition. Very swanky! There was adequate space for hanging clothes and they provided two suitcase stands. The location was very good - only a short walk to all the people on Ocean Ave. There's no restaurants on the premises, however there is an in-house bar that also provides continental breakfast every morning.

The price was right, but the room was very dated, and not in a good way! The renovations were far from thorough. AC/Heat didn't work very well. We could hear the people in the bathroom next door. Location is handy, but will not stay here again.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel and were treated very well by the front desk staff. Marco, in particular was extremely helpful and accommodating. The location was great, a block away from the beach and all the restaurants and clubs were in walking distance to this hotel. We would definitely return!

The hotel was in the perfect location, close to everything. Room clean, king bed comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hot water gets REALLY HOT!

Nifty three floor Art Deco motel with lots of charm and value. There is an attached bar that uses both sides of the porch but guests can sit without having to order from the bar. You cannot however bring your own alcoholic beverages to the verandahs to enjoy. The beach is less than a block away and Collins Avenue is busy but the rooms are quiet. A city parking garage is just one street over and the daily rate is a mere $20. Your mandatory room fee ($8.95/day upon arrival) covers beach towels, breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese, not a bad deal.

The staff were nice and courteous. The place was clean and close to the beach. However, our room has the view of the street and can hear everything from the sounds of the cars to the pedestrians walking. The hotel has hardwood floors and we can hear the footsteps from the upstairs room especially if they are wearing heels. The bathroom was small and the closet was more like a small boiler room. The pipes are exposed and the AC makes such a loud noise when it turns on. And lastly, the TV remote had a duck tape covering the batteries so it won't work until u press hard on the batteries. With all their renovation they could've gotten a new remote for the TV. Overall, the hotel is good for a short stay... like a day or two.

Went for a weekend with a friend and don't recommend this old smelling moldy hotel. The water in the shower constantly changed from hot to cold. No pool and no action at the Catina. Just boring!

This hotel was perfect for our needs, it was clean, comfortable and located 3 blocks from our daughters' apartment. The beach is only a block away, there are several local markets nearby for anything you might need and all the activity on South Beach is either right in front of you or within a short walk. It is not a quiet area, there are few on South Beach, so there was traffic noise, people noise and just general noise of the Beach, but when you go to South Beach you soon find out that it is a place that never closes! So you are going to have noise. Also, Collins Avenue is also Highway A1A that runs all along the coast, so there will always be traffic. We had everything we needed, once the light was fixed in our bathroom, and would definitely stay again. There are lots of interesting people who travel to South Beach and we met many, and most all were friendly. The hotel continental breakfast was adequate, but only from 8AM to 9:30AM, it would have been nice if it lasted at least until 10AM. Coffee available all day would also have been a plus, but there are places around to buy it, we just thought it would have been a good way to have guests feel at home, since there are no coffee pots in rooms.

The love of my life and I stayed at the South Beach Plaza Hotel for a weekend and our experience was - pretty good. The hotel location was great. Not right on the beach but only a block away. We had no trouble with transportation because everything is within walking distance no need to go far. We were near dining, shopping and the beach. There were only a few things that were disappointing. There were a few ants in the room but maintenance quickly came with the bug spray to eliminate the problem. The shower would change temperature on its own and rather frequently - sort of irritating. There was no ice machine or refrigerator in the room and if you do want ice you can only get it from the bar, which opens at 4pm, but there is a gas station directly across the street, which has mostly everything you would need. Overall the price was good for what we were looking for. I would probably stay there again.

Service was great. First we were in a standard room, which is exactly the way it sounds. Everything was older (carpet, shower rod, tv), but livable. Then they upgraded us for free for our anniversary to a better room. The upgraded room was a lot nicer - flatscreen tv, newer bathroom fixtures, hardwood floor. The hotel has a GREAT outdoor space with chairs,couches,& a pool table, you can buy your own liquor and drink out there.
