General Description

Conveniently located only a very short walk from both the conference centre and the town of Harrogate with ample restaurants and shops. Close to bus routes and a short taxi ride from the train station. The Bijou is a Victorian property located in the heart of Harrogate's fashionable Duchy Estate. Recent modernisation has created a boutique feel whilst still retaining the charm of the building. The interiors bring together the best of old and new; original wooden and tiled floors combine with contemporary lighting and artwork. Free on-site car parking, honesty bar, afternoon teas and a lap-top in the lounge with free internet access (wi-fi also available). The all-important breakfast includes healthy items such as home-made muesli, compote, fresh fruit and proper orange juice. Vegetarian options such as french toast and scrambled eggs on muffins are available and for the full English we source all meat products locally.

Great place to stay 5 starGreat decor, free wireless internet access in the rooms, the best breakfast I have probably ever had in a hotel. Nice touches like sweets in the sitting room, fudge and jelly beans in the rooms. Only 5 minutes walk from Harrogate centre . . . a very enjoyable stay!

I was actually charged £70 which I have only just realised when I booked at £65. Would appreciate a refund! Otherwise excellent.

AmazingJust got back from a weekend break with my boyfriend. Really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very well decorated. Walk to town was up a hill so a bit tiring but had an amazing stay and will returning to the hotel soon!!

Staff very attentive and helpful. Room was on the small side, with the en-suite being just big enough for the shower, sink, and wc. But considering the price, this was a minor point and the room represented fantastic value for money.

Pretty!Nice room, a bit small (room 7) but big enough for me on my own. Honesty bar was a nice touch, and the lounge. Good breakfast. A little bit pricey at £75 for one night mid week for the size of the room, but it was nice, so i would probably stay again.

Great place to stay. Extensive breakfast choice. Lots of small, thoughful items provided - aromatic toiletries, fudge, internet access in the communal lounge area, honesty box for alcohol etc. Ideal for the town. Quality of room lost a point only because of the noise of the traffic at the front of the hotel. Certainly would stay again. Thank-you, Bijou

Don't look anywhere else stop hereCannot fault this visit. Owners very inviting and helpful, whilst at the same time being chilled out. Very clean and stylish rooms, which althogh by no means large are a perfectly ample. Free wi-fi a bonus as is the free use of laptop in the lounge. Honesty bar a refreshing change. Best b&b I've stopped in, highly reccommended.

Harrogate April 2009Very pleasant stay. Nice to come back to comfortable lounge with honesty bar and internet access. Lovely breakfast, close to centre, highly recommend.
