General Description

The Boundary offers contemporary boutique-style accommodation in a Victorian house, just an stroll from the villages of Bowness and Windermere. You'll find spacious, individually designed bedrooms and luxury bathrooms, an elegant dining room and cosy places to lounge about, with wireless internet access throughout. King-sized beds and 26 flat-screen TV are standard, and from bathroom to breakfast we use the best of local producers and local suppliers to make your stay unique. The Boundary is owned and run by Steve Thomas and Helen Sowerby. In 2009 it received a five-star grading and a silver award from VisitBritain. We are always looking to enhance your stay in the Lake District, and to use and promote quality, local, products and services wherever we can. We also offer: Folding beds, cots and high chairs available for younger guests Use of nearby leisure pool and club Private parking at the front of the house Without being 'greener than thou' about it, we try to be as eco-friendly as possible, and have fitted solar panels for hot water heating, natural sheep's wool insulation and re-claimed oak floorboards. Our toiletries include organic soap and bath salts from Mother Earth of GrasmereOur bacon and gluten-free Cumberland sausage come from Woodall's of Waberthwaite, whose antibiotic-free pigs are humanely reared on the Cumbrian Coast; our free-range eggs are from Bannerigg Farm, Windermere. Fair Trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate are served at breakfast and provided in the rooms. We are happy to provide recommendations for local eateries and mapsbooks to help plan your activities. Please note: we do our best to create a clean air and low allergen atmosphere, for the benefit of all our guests, so the Boundary is non-smoking throughout, and we are unable to admit pets
