We were looking forward to being "in the middle of things" and weren't disappointed. The hotel's location just off Trafalgar Square cannot be beat. Excellent restaurants, The National Gallery, the Portrait Gallery and two underground (subway) terminals are within steps of the hotel. The rooms are thoroughly modern with wi-fi and flat screen TV's. Beds are comfortable. Everything is new and kept spotlessly clean. It is one of the few hotels in the UK or Europe that will provide a washcloth. The front desk staff was very helpful in giving directions and in recommending restaurants and maing reservations. The only drawback is the limited and pricey hotel restaurant. Breakfast is of excellent quality but has the same buffet menu daily. The cost is 15 pounds per person (currently about $24 U.S. Dollars). An alternative is the two coffee houses near the Embankment station. A new restaurant, however, is under construction just off the hotel lobby. Having found The Grand at Trafalgar Square, we won't be looking for any other alternative on our next London visit.

The only negative was the cost of breakfast - high. Other than that, the location - right around the corner from the National Gallery, St. Martin's in the Fields, Big Ben, and a block to the Tube entrance - gateway to everything else. Enjoyed our visit very much. We would love to return.

We arrived 1.5 hours early and were able to store our luggage because our room wasn't ready. When we returned a little after the check in time, it was still not ready. We were told it would be about 10-15 minutes. We waited 30 and it still wasn't ready. We were finally able to get into our room 2.5 hours after check in. This is disappointing when you are tired from long travel and want to rest and relax. The area is very touristy/crowed but is located next to several tube stations. That made it easy to get to the hotel with little hassle. The room was a good size and the hotel is clean and attractive. We previously stayed at a small hotel in the Paddington/Hyde Park area that was much more cozy and accommodating even with a smaller room.

The room was clean, the staff was very helpful, and the location superb. The shower stall was a bit small for a full grown adult, but there was always plenty of hot water, and the air conditioning worked great on those days when the heat became an issue. The room came with a small refrigerator and microwave which helped cut the costs a bit since London can get expensive.

This will be our first port of call for future stays in London: the modern lifts are annoyingly unresponsive, but the location, service, and price more than make up for them.

Traveling as a single tourist with little knowledge of London's layout, I couldn't have picked a better location. I actually booked it on the basis of reviews here. Room was very clean and staff very helpful. All transportation systems right outside the hotel, but need to walk about five blocks to Picadilly to get direct underground line to Heathrowe. Most major sites within walking distance. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. I will return here on my next trip.

Very good value and quite a large room for London, location is excellent - only a 10min walk to Covent Garden.

Everything about this hotel was easy; check-in and out was automatic. Bottled water stations on each floor made getting water and ice to the room free and easy. Internet access was easy and with a fast connection. The location made it easy to get anywhere and there were great places to eat in the area. It quite simply was a great hotel with a good staff. The spotless and comfortable rooms made a great place to return to after long days on the City streets.

This is a nice hotel with a great location. Room is nice size for London and it is very comfortable besides a couple of minor glitches. We stayed in room 540 and it was quiet and the bathroom was spacious and had a soothing shower with more than ample water pressure. Another nice thing is the washer and dryer facilities located in the hotel (3rd floor). Our floor also had a guest closet that contained iron and ironing board, extra blankets and pillows. My wife and I have staid in various hotels in some of Europe's larger cities and this one rates among the best for location, comfort and value. If traveling to London and you want to stay close to Trafalgar Square, this hotel is a good value in a great location.

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting London. The hotel is very close to all major attractions such as buckingham palace, london eye, big ben etc. You can walk to all these places and you dont have to spend money on cabs. The underground train station is located very near and you can catch a train to any place. There are very good restaurants near by, so food will not be a problem. This is the best place to stay in London if you are visiting for the first time. The staff was friendly and even stored our luggage even after we checked out so that we could roam around to see places.
