Generally good experience Very nice hotel and well located. The room was lovely and a really good size for London - biggest issue we found was the staff. Not friendly and generally very unhelpful with some of our queries; check-in isn't until 3 p.m. so I had emailed ahead in advance to request an earlier check-in by 30 minutes, so that we could get to the afteroon matinee at 3.00 p.m. that we had tickets for. I never received a response and on arrival, with just 20 minutes to spare, we were told that the room wasn't ready. We therefore had to just leave everything and go. However, on our return the receptionist was much more understanding of our situation than the previous lady and upgraded our room free of charge. The room was lovely, very quiet and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in away from home. We didn't have breakfast - @ £23 we felt we could better value elsewhere and we did. There are lots of nice places to eat very close by, so there is no need to pay inflated prices.

Nice hotel, helpful and pleasant staff. Be sure to choose a river view, the views of the houses of Parliament and the London eye are great.

It's a pleasant enough hotel - well situated but more suited to business than pleasure. No real character or charm, room adequate but nothing special - we certainly couldn't work out how it got its five stars. All quite unmemorable really.

extremely well located. Great bar and room. Pressure pads on the counter for water bottle possibly not the greatest idea, but otherwise very difficult to fault. Would definitely stay here again

The hotel is approximately half way between the Tower of London/Tower Bridge and Parliment/Westminster Abbey. Our room overlooked the Thames and was very modern and well kept. It is also quite close to Covent Garden. The only negative would be that the bath tub had a glass shower door that only went half way towards the back of the tub. Being a big guy I got the floor outside the tub wet every morning.

Excellent location. It is within walking distance of the main london attractions and 5 minutes from Covent Garden (where all the theatres are). Rooms are big, clean and have very nice views. Attentive staff. Superb restaurant and nice cosy Bar.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in London and in particular the Swissotel/Howard. It was clean, service was great (entire staff) and hotel very quiet (back side of hotel). The location was also the best..near the tube, covent gardens, theater district and many major attractions. We would go their again in an instant!

Staying at the Swissotel The Howard in London was everything we hoped. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were very comfortable, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The hotel is in a great location right along the river, close to main attractions, and across the street from a tube stop. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Room was adequately sized, loved the complimentary expresso every morning from your own expresso machine in the room, literally steps away from the Temple tube station, but also close enough to nearby attractions (Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, London Eye) where you can stroll along Thames River. Staff was attentive and professional. My only complaint was the way they charge for internet usage (15GBP) when it should be free for this type of hotel.
One final complaint was the fire alarm that went off the morning of our last stay, but it's not the hotel fault.

Great location with amazing views over the River Thames. Extremely nice staff and attentive service. The rooms are very specious, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a hidden garden which is ideal for this time of the year and the restaurant called JAAN serves superb food. A highly recommend the Wild Pigeon with Foie Gras!!Location could be better. It is 5 minutes walk from Covent Garden and Temple Tube station is just opposite the hotel.

Superb hotel and location. Staff very attentive and helpful. Requested a room on a high floor for my partner's birthday. The view from 6th floor was outstanding. Worth having a mojito cocktail in the traditional bar, although expensive. The Mauve bar was also great later in the evening, had a buddha bar feel to it. Shame breakfast was not included in the price. Would recommend to family and friends for a special oocasion.

Fabulous location with a great view (especially at night). Easy walking distance to West End & Covent Garden and further afield no problem at all with Temple Tube Station just down the road. It's a great base for a weekend. If pushed I'd say that the only downside would be that the room was opposite the lifts and the Breakfast was not included. However - for that overnight treat I would not hesitate to stay again.

Excellent location. Walked to British Museum in about 25 minutes, and to Covent Garden Piazza in about 15 minutes, Trafalgar Square in about 20 minutes, and red double decker sightseeing bus in about 15 minutes along embankment. Very close to theaters, embankment, Temple tube station (took tube to and from Heathrow - ride took about an hour 15 minutes from airport) , and theater restaurants. #11 bus goes to Victoria station from Strand. Wonderful view of Big Ben, London Eye, and the Tower Bridge from hotel room window. Very helpful staff. Wonderfully handy European coffee maker and electric tea kettle. Would definitely stay at Swissotel again. It was perfect for a comfortable stay, beautiful view, and convenient location.

The Swissotel is perfectly located for vacationing and very close to the theatre district. Many great restaurants are within walking distance and the underground station for the District and Circle Lines is right across the street.
