I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Phoenician! Everything was superb - service, location, amenities, room . . . it was totally relaxing and fun. The staff are wonderful and it is obvious that they are committed to making sure guests enjoy their stay. I will definitely return there and will use this travel website to book my next trip! I'd been jonesing for a vaca with a pool so I could sit in a lounge chair and do nothing more than read, relax and sip tall cool drinks. I got that and more at my recent stay at the Phoenician. Upon arrival, registration was smooth and I was promptly upgraded when I explained that I had been told it would be available: no questions asked! The room was clean and lovely (but not opulent in case you're expecting that) and it overlooked the grounds which was nice. Everyone from the bell desk captain on down to the bartender at the Terrace restaurant was incredibly nice and helpful. The pool was what I had hoped for, though that said, Memorial weekend turned out to be a zoo and you had to get to the pool really early to nab a lounge chair (luckily my husband gets up at dawn to play golf so that got me going!). The poolside waitstaff were totally on it and the food down there was really good (coming from someone who is very picky). The fitness center was quite nice for a hotel and the spa was a perk. I will say I found it odd that I should have to pay 20 per visit to the gym, but I managed to score a couple of free passes so that helped! All in all I was incredibly pleased with the stay and would definitely go back. Couple of hints though: be sure to ask for a room with a view. If not you may wind up in the bowels of the hotel and that place was enormous. Also, if you're renting a car, do NOT use Hertz. They totally oversold their inventory and people were waiting around for hours to get their cars!
