Queens - LeedsDefinitely refurbished since I last stayed (nearly twenty years ago). Loved the feeling of being on a film set waiting for Hercule Poirot to arrive. Some could find the Jack Vetriano effects of the bar a bit cheesy and (sadly) I didn't have time to discover the delights of the restaurant. Arrived by train so cannot comment on parking. Convenience to the station will always give this hotel top marks - and definitely a spot to remember if your train is delayed and you're looking for somewhere different to while away the time.

The hotel is very nice, rooms are of a good standard and are very clean. Customer service is excellent and the food is very good too. The valet service is also very handy and over night parking is only £11 which is great considering how central the hotel is.

Staff brilliant, food inedibleNice room, if a little small. Bath was tiny. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful - first class.Unfortunately the experience was marred by the appalling food. We sent back the first meal - supposed to be chargrilled chicken tikka skewers on saffron rice with mild chilli chutney. Each of the two skewers had a single lump of chicken - the poorest quality meat, it felt like rubber and was undercooked inside. It had some paste smeared over it but didn't appear to be chargrilled. The rice was plain boiled rice, no hint of saffron, and arrived as a congealed lump, topped with a tomato and onion salsa - not chutney. The second meal was sausages - again really poor quality, gristle and tubes inside. Despite asking for them to be well done, they weren't. The accompaniments were one tomato, a top of a mushroom, some dried up salad and a small pot of boiled potatoes - some of which were bad. This is the worst food I've ever had at a hotel.
