Our trip from the airport was a little long but the country side that we saw on the way made up for it. Every person that we met, especially the locals, was extremely friendly and courteous to us at all times. The check-in was fast and smooth with all requests honored in a timely manner. Our room was always clean and tidy. The concierge and front desk staff were proficient and knowledgable in any area of interest we had. The Reef is the perfect place to go and relax knowing you are at one of the best on the island. The beach areas were always clean and pristine. The food had the local flavors and was quite delightful. The drinks were potent. We will tell all our friends and for sure we will return for a longer stay.

The Reef Resort is everything we hoped it would be -- comfortable and attractive with a welcoming, friendly personality. We wanted a small resort with an intimate ambience and got it; we wanted good snorkeling off the beach and got it; we wanted a clean, pleasant room and got it; we wanted a good beach bar and got a great one; and we wanted good value for the dollar and got it. All in all, our time at the Reef Resort was delightful.

At first we were a little worried about the seclusion, but after one trip to Georgtown we were really greatful. No cruise ship tourist on this end of the island. At one point there were 5 ships in at the same time. This hotel does not have alot of frills but they have the best beaches and if you want to go to town just ask the front desk to call Apollo. He was the best bus driver we have ever met. A truly enjoyable stay!!

I have no idea how this resort was rated a 4.8 out of 5. I am sure, this resort cannot compete with the Ritz Carlton or Westin on Seven mile beach, which also got a high rating. These reviews are somewhat inflated. My wife and I enjoy staying on the unbeaten path, but there is really not much to do around the resort unless you just want to sit on the beach or next to the pool. Rum point is not far from the resort, which was a highlight of our trip. I liked our rooms. The one bedroom (side A) provides a full kitchen. This came in handy due to the cost of food is quite expensive. The food at the resort was terrible for the cost. The pizza, seafood, and hamburgers are definetly not worth the dollar. If you plan on playing tennis, this is not the place to do so. The beach is not bad, but is very difficult to get in and out the water as the rocks are just a few steps into the water. Walk down to the Morrit's resort and get in at their beach. The snorkling is much better and fish more abundant. My wife and have traveled to many places and I would not recommend this resort. Staying on the more secluded side of the island was not worth the money, as we found ourselves going into town almost everyday that takes 45 minutes to drive. If it is windy on the east side (where the resort is located), you will find yourself trying to escape to the west side (George Town, seven mile beach). We enjoyed our time together, but would not stay here again. Don't miss stingray city! This was an experience of a life time. Book early!

we were looking for a secluded beach resort and we found it at the reef. The resort is clean, safe and very friendly. exceptional snorkeling right at the door step. beach bar staff is great and very very friendly. we did all inclusive pkg., the restaurant menu is somewhat limited but it is all good. went ti georgetown once to shop, very crowded to say the least. if you want to stay in seclusion, stay at the reef.

The Reef Resort located in East End of the Grand Cayman was not what my wife and I were expecting. The Reef is strictly for those who wish to getaway from it all because it is very quiet and not surrounded by much. the main thing you can do is sit on the beach and read. There is a half-hearted effort for activities but not satisfying for a true vacation. For example they had Live Entertainment which actually were pretty good singers but the hotel made no effort in decorating the tables or the restaurant to set a festive tone. If you stay here you should just expect a room and pretty much left alone to do your own thing. No room service only a quick straightening up by housekeeping. My only high remarks are for the desk clerk. She was very sweet and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy with everything we asked of her including helping us locate our lost luggage and a rental car to explore the island.

The Reef Resort in Grand Cayman was great! The staff were friendly, for the most part, and accommodating. We were on our honeymoon and really enjoyed the privacy, even though most of the rooms with whirlpools in them are near the pool / hot tub and therefore at night were the loudest areas at the resort. The scenery was remarkable, actually unbelievable, and the fish right around the dock area were fantastic! We didn't snorkel or dive, we just brought our swimming goggles and swam! We saw it all! Everything was expensive though, which made it difficult, even eating in our room (buying food from the local store). Its just expensive! We would consider a time share but could not completely understand all the details of what that would take. But if we can figure it out, we may just try to make it an annual event or every few years to come back. Yes, it was that good! But we wanted privacy. If you want a lot to do and action, you need to go to the other side of the Island. We visited there and like it, but wanted to be able to leave it behind and did! My wife and I had a great time! Thanks Reef!

We honeymooned at the Reef Resort. We have traveled a lot and Grand Cayman is our favorite. We felt as if we were all alone and VERY safe. VERY secluded. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. You can sit through the time share presentation, but we just avoided them. Conciere was very helpful. We are both divers and snub our nose at snorkeling, but the snorkeling in front of the resort was fabulous! Lots of sea life and huge conch shells that you just don't see at most resorts. The beach was kept clean daily. I would recommend renting a car. If you are used to large resorts with lots of dining options, this is not one of them. The food on property was good but we went and visited the Lighthouse and our favorite was "Over the Edge". I would recommend the dive shop also. They did a great job. And don't miss swimming with the sting rays, unforgettable! The beach bar was friendly with great service, They had nightly activities to keep you entertained. But if you are looking for a lot of action, stay on Seven Mile. We made use of the grocery store across the street and stocked our kitchenette. The bed was average and I don't know how they kept all of the sand we tracked in cleaned up, but they did a fabulous job. Worked out GREAT! VERY RELAXING, VERY PRIVATE! Great views from the rooms, beautiful water and beaches. We will be back.

Room has a great view and and a balcony with chairs to enjoy it. Our room had microwave, toaster, sink, and refrigerator which we used every day to have breakfast on the balcony. Grocery store across the street has everything you need to stock up on drinks and snacks and lunch and dinner if you wanted. Very clean and new looking. Very comfortable bed.Must see sites are Rum Point, Stingray City and Turtle farm.7Mile beach is pretty but crowded. We all preferred our resorts beach (great snorkeling.. bring your gear!)

"A nice resort that I would go to again.Pros: Peaceful atmosphere on a less congested part of the island Newness Good Beach Bar Barefoot Man on Tuesdays and ThursdaysCons: No beach umbrellas to combat blazing sun No chairs or tables around pool Spotty maid service- no full maid service except two days a week. One day they left the door wide open and another, they left the passcard in our door."
