HI, what im about to tell is the truth and only the truth.
Oct 2010 we stayed at The Tahoe Ridge for a family event. We booked the trip 9 months before and looking forward to have a good time with family and friend in a nice place on top of the beautiful mountain of lake Tahoe.. Well, the time we spent on the property was anything but nice.
When we first checked in, I asked for a room with a nice view, but, I was told that only the owners were allowed to have a room with a view, we were given a mountain view, with the mountain right in front of our windows , we could see ants crawl on the rocks, however, a few of our friends did have a view, overlooking the beautiful valley of Lake Tahoe and, they were not owners..
The first 24 hours of our stay were nothing but nice, the electricity went out as we were checking in . We had no light in our rooms till the next day, when we asked what we should do, the front desk told us it was not their fault, we could go to town and get some candles, ( its about 20 minutes one way to town, every thing was dark, no lights any ware including the streets ) or, we could go and stay in another hotel in town for the night as lots of other people were doing.
The lights were out from 4:00pm-4:00am. All my food in the fridge was spoiling, I asked the front desk for some ice, they told me the ice was on the bottom floor in the laundry room. Whit no electricity and no lights, I had a hard time find the laundry room , when i found it, the ice machine didnt work because it needed electricity to give ice, I called the front desk again, they told me to wait and someone would come and open the ice machine, I waited 20 minutes in the dark, non one showed up.. I went back to the room , called the front desk to bring me up some ice or they would half to reimburse me for my food, in 15 minutes, someone arrived with a bag of ice, by this time, we were in the room for 2 hours in the dark . My husband went downtown to get some candles , we could not even use the toilet, because we could not see were it was in the room. We had just drove 8 hours , we were all tired and decided to go to bed and deal with it in the morning. At about 9:30pm, someone knocked at our door, it was 2 ladies from Utah, the front desk overbooked the room. It took 45 minutes for someone to come and give the ladies another room, They had just drove 12 hours and were very tired as well, we offered them some wine, cheese and crackers, as we all set in the hall eating . The hall was the only place with some lights..
Next day, we could not get into our room, the key didnt work, the front desk told us it was a bad lock and they would send someone to fix it. It took 30 minutes for security to let us in the room, the person the front desk was paging never answered the call, he told security he didnt feel like it and he would fix it when he was good and ready, anyway, there was nothing wrong with the lock, all we needed was new keys..
When the lights came back on, the lights next to our beds didnt work, the second bedroom had no hot water, the TV remotes didnt work, the fireplace didnt work, ( it did snow for two day and the temperature dropped to 30) . I called to speak with the GM, but he never answered the phone, I did leave him a message and told him how unfriendly and unhelpful the staff was and all the problems we encounter since we arrived at tje property, and I did told him not to bother to call me back, I could see he didnt want to talk to me..
We decided to stay at The Tahoe Ridge in exchange with our property in Kauai, ocean front, 2 balconies, beautiful place , but because of health reason we could not go to Kauai and traded our time with The Tahoe Ridge , and what we got was a mountain in front of our windows for a view , problem with lights, no hot water, little heat, unfriendly personnel.
The property was not all that bad, the rooms were ok, a little outdated and not very clean, however, even with a mountain in our windows, the rooms were big. To end our trip, we cut our vacation short and came home early, we were not to happy with the property and will never stay there again..
Thank you
yours truly
unhappy camper..

I stayed here early March and give it a 88% I was pleased with my stay here. The suite was large enough to accommodate six adults and was walking distance to a lift at Heavenly mountain. It had nice size TV's, one 50" DLP and a smaller LCD and a stereo system. A free shuttle bus also ran to heavenly as well as south Lake Tahoe. Our condo had two hot tubs on the top floor, one over looking Lake Tahoe, the other Carson City. To address other reviews, the pull out bed felt like a pull out bed, no better or worse than any others I've slept on. The other two beds were king size sleep number beds, which were better than my bed at home. Covered parking spots did tend to fill late in the evening but we never had a huge problem finding an open one. Shampoo, conditioner and coffee were not provided but as a twenty something male I can go a few days without shampoo and bought good coffee grounds in town. I never noticed the staff being rude, but the only one I had very much contact with was the bartender. The bus drivers were very friendly, especially since they had to deal with drunk.
