The recently refurbished Ship and Castle is a 500 year old traditional country Inn transformed into a contemporary restaurant and hotel situated 15 miles south of Bristol, 4 miles from the M5 and 3 miles from Bristol International Airport. .Recently awarded a 4 AA Award for its rooms, we take pride in being able to offer a relaxing place that delivers outstanding food, great drinks and outstanding Boutique accommodation nestled in the somerset countryside. All our rooms have been designed to a very high specification and have all the latest gadgets including, DVD's, flat screen TV's, free view and iPod docking stations. Call 01934 833535 for suitability of room for your stay. Continental breakfast is served from 7am with cooked breakfast available from 9am, with the opportunity to book a takeaway breakfast for early birds. Our Thick Local Pork Sausages take a while to cook, so if your in a hurry you can pre order your breakfast the night before, otherwise relax in the stone room whilst we cook your breakfast, its definitely worth the wait. Our lunch and evening menus are bursting with local produce and change frequently to suit the seasons and our fish specials at weekends are something to be savoured. We have an extensive wine list and offer traditional ales and ciders in the bar until late every evening. This family run country Inn caters for everyone and is the perfect location for business trips and romantic breaks alike.

Very pleasantComforable and pleasant stay,staff were very helpfull and pleasant,the food was very good although too much on the plate for me which I found offputting,but overall a very comfortable hotel to stay.

Second stay at this hotel and really enjoyed it - very friendly, lovely room and good food.The only slight issue is that we were asked to leave the pub/restaurant at 11.20pm, which was a bit inconvenient as I was with a colleague and there was no other public area.

Great Weekend at the Ship & Castle, CongresburyWe had a lovely weekend in this country Inn. The young couple running it have pulled out all the stops in refurbishing the bedrooms. I think we were the first to use our room since the refurbishment, I hope they are able to maintain the high standard they have set themselves. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. If we were to return to the area we would definately make a point of staying with them again. Only concern we had was that if bad language offends you, stay out of the bar when the local youth are there in force, they have certainly got the 'F' word of pat!

Great Place to StayExcellent place with lovely room. Warm welcome on arrival. We stayed overnight for a flight from Bristol airport and would recommend the Ship and Castle for this or a longer stay. Our flight was early so we skipped breakfast and arrangements for this and leaving in the morning were no problem. We've only marked the food down because it was a Sunday evening and the lunchtime carvery (with starters and desserts) is all that is available. It was fine though. Comfortable quiet room at the back of the building and got a quiet night's sleep.
