"A great, small, independent, modern, clean, efficient, perfectly located hotel with excellent service and access to a real cappuchino machine and empty elevators. Situated near Central Park, Madison Ave.,Times Square, Museum of Modern Art, the hotel is surrounded by wonderful restaurants and the Indian Bistro ""Cafe Spice"" where Vincent whippes up exotic Margaritas at happy-hour prices. There is a small liquor store (rare, near Time Square) across the street, and a wonderful grocery store/deli on the corner to satisfy the most sophisticated culinary needs. I will stay here again."

The Shoreham was a great spot at a great price. Our room (one queen bed) was pretty small, but very efficient;y laid out, recently redecorated, and comfortable . A free espresso machine located in the lobby was a frequently used amenity. One downside was the lack of a comfy chair for reading, but we were in the room very little anyhow. In the past we've stayed mostly at the Parker Meridien, and the Shoreham is not as posh, but just as convenient. We'll definitely stay there again.

The staff was extremely helpful, the location was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was pricey and worth it. Every thing was fresh and delicious. Great bar atmosphere.

My wife and I traveled to NYC to see the sights and see a show. We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel to be very clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Its location is very nice, within walking distance to Times Square, Carnegie Hall, Central Park and many of the 5th Ave stores. We even walked from the hotel to the U.N. We stayed in a superior room, and it was on the 55th Street side, 2nd floor. The room was small but efficiently laid out, and there was room for our luggage in the closet. The room was impeccably clean when we arrived, and housekeeping service was very good. Even though our room was directly above the lounge/bar we heard absolutely no noise from it, even though in the lobby, the music from the bar was moderately loud. There was some infrequent sounds of traffic, but it isn't really worth mentioning. As a whole, as long as the room is clean and in proper working condition, I'm not a big worrier about the decor of a hotel room. But the room (and the entire hotel) is a very modern, stainless steel kind of place, which some will call simple and uncluttered (me, for example) and others will find cold and sterile (my wife didn't care for it much). But the room has a nice LCD TV, Bose radio, and all the standard amenities like an iron, hair dryer, etc. All in all, we found it to be very clean, quiet, friendly, convenient and would definitely stay there again.

What I really liked the most about the hotel was the modern decor in the lobby area and the room. I arrived a few hours before check-in and the front desk checked to see if they had any rooms available at that time (only smoking rooms-so I passed). They held my luggage for me (free of charge) while I went sightseeing. The room I stayed in was small, but based on previous reviews, I expected that. It wasn't too bad since I was traveling alone. The bathroom was a tad too small even for my liking (they could've made the shower stall smaller and added more space to the the sink/toilet area), but it was manageable. My one complaint about the hotel would be the food. I ordered room service for breakfast since I wanted to get a jump on my 2nd day of sightseeing. It was a little pricey, but I felt it would be worth it to not have to walk around and find a cafe that served breakfast. However, the pancakes were VERY burnt. I had them bring up another set and they were not much better. If I stay again, I will just get up earlier and eat out. Other than that, my experience here was quite pleasant and I would definitely stay again.

I picked this hotel for the location and that it just had a major renovation. I thought everything would be new and working well. When I got to the hotel, I found that the lobby was beautiful and the room was small but cute. HOWEVER, I soon found that the air condition DID NOT WORK. The room was unlivable because it was so hot. I asked the front desk to help get the air fixed. They sent someone up who said the air was working. During my stay, I was able to talk to other guest. They all said that their air condition did not work. So changing rooms would not help. What is the point of spending this much money for a room and then being unable to sleep in it due to the heat. I will never stay in this hotel again!!

The Shoreham staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was the largest I have stayed in Manhattan - two queens and lots of space. Much Larger than the other 4 and 5 star hotels I have stayed in. The hotel was very clean and well kept. We really enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I Stayed at this hotel in August of 2008, we both thought that it was a great hotel for the amount of time that we would spend sleeping and showering there. The location was stupendous it was close to every place that we wanted and did go. The shower was the perfect size for the room and the bed was cozy for what i mentioned before was the amount of time we spent there. The Money spend for this trip was a good sufficient amount for the entire trip including this hotel. If you are looking for a central place to stay, local to central park , rockefeller center, st patricks. We ordered ice to be brought to the room and extra towels and the hotel staff was very nice. They were prompt in getting us our room and also on our departure they would keep our bags while we went for one last view of new york and came back to go to the airport. Surely planning on staying again soon.
