The lobby was beautiful, the spa was excellent, restaurants were very nice - casino! The darkness of the wood and low lighting in the hallways. I have stayed at the Atlantis, Peppermill, Harrah's & the Grand Sierra (2 times- once as the Hilton) and with the renovations made the Grand Sierra is my favorite hotel.

You'll find the Summit as an excellent place to stay, or a so-so place, based upon your requirements, so the wording that follows is more important than the rating metrics. So here's the really good stuff. First off, the Summit is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We expected a quiet room, and got it. What surprised us was the quiet casino. Unlike those noisy gambling parlors in Vegas, this casino was actually relaxing and stress free. Then there is the movies. On the lower level all movies are three bucks each, and they are first run. Can't beat the price. And our room fee included a buffet breakfast. Frankly, even if we had to pay for the breakfast it would have been a bargain. Excellent variety of food, uncrowded no long lines for the buffet. Once again, not like in Vegas. Our room was large and the bathroom was covered in granite from top to bottom. However, my wife felt that the color of the granite was poor for applying makeup. She felt it made her look older. I felt that way about the corridors. The hallway leading from the elevator to the room is dark. There's much black paint on the walls and the carpet is dark too. That's a shame, since bright and cheery colors cost no more than dreary. Then there's the TV. Reception could have been better. It certainly wasn't high definition. The room had a good working refrigerator, and was clean and roomy. Also, the bathroom lacked a tub, though it had a large granite lined shower. I liked the bathroom, much more than my wife did. There was also a TV in the bathroom, but I had to use the remote from the bedroom to make it work. The Summit's a bargain. I'll be back!

We booked a $$ a night room. When we got there all those rooms were full so they upgraded us to a $$$ a night suite for the same price! It was bigger than our house! It was the highlight of our whole trip! The room was awesome and the view was spectacular!

Nice amenities in the room. Pillows were too hard. We stay in this hotel every time we go to Reno because it has everything from a resort class spa to a movie theater. It's also very family friendly.

The room was nicely appointed, with extra room than a standard room. The shower was small. Our room while nicely decorated, had a lamp that didn't work. It was never fixed. The bathroom was really nothing special. Overall the hotel didn't provide a 4 star experience.

Clean, modern room. Soft, cushy bed. Like the TV in the bathroom. Friendly staff. The elevator. The hotel was all sold out, and the elevators could not handle the capacity. Very surprising for a luxury hotel. I really liked the room. It was clean and had a very nice view of the city. The decor was a bit dark. The bed was very nice and soft; I had trouble getting up in the morning. The bathroom was nice. No tub, but it had a big shower. In general the room was very pleasant to stay in. The hotel, however, needs to improve its elevators. It took forever to get on an elevator, and more frequent than not, it was usually packed and you had to wait for next one. We ended up using stairs when going down (we stayed on 23rd floor) and used the elevator in the older section of the hotel. It was ridiculous.

This is the second time I have been fortunate enough to take advantage of this great bargain. Our room was on the top floor, facing the snow covered mountains and city lights (just georgous at night). The room was spacious (420 sq. ft.) with 2 queen beds with pillow-top mattress and down comforters and pillows. 42" flat screen TV on the wall. Fridge and microwave in room. The local bus stops right outside takes you to "downtown Reno". Also, a free airport shuttle. Enough to do on the property, so really no need to venture out. Charlie Palmer's steak is to die for. Great food and service. Looking forward to next trip.
