The Talbott is a gem. The hotel is small and the rooms are beautifully decorated with all amenities. The staff could not be friendlier or more professional. The bar is wonderful for a quiet lunch, or a drink in the evening. Breakfast is also served there. I've stayed at most of the top hotels in Chicago and I've settled on the Talbott as my favorite.

My husband and I were looking for a Boutique Hotel when we visited Chicago. Our experience at the Talbott Hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We most certainly recommend it to others and look forward to visiting again.

I took my 24-year old daughter to Chicago for a 4-day mini-vacaton in early July 2007. It was her first trip to Chicago and she was so excited. We stayed at the Talbott for only one night, and both of us absolutely loved it. The hotel is older, I believe about 1920's, but it has been renovated and is simply but elegantly decorated. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only negative - and it was not the hotel's fault at all - was that our room faced a construction site on the corner of the street. However, I'm sure this is a common problem with many hotels in downtown Chicago with as much construction as we saw ongoing during our visit. The food at the hotel bistro is okay, but in my opinion was bit pricey for the quality and quantity. With the food choices available in downtown Chicago, I would opt to eat elsewhere. Overall, The Talbott was an incredible bargain and a cozy home away from home. My only regret? That we didn't stay at the Talbott for our entire 3-night stay in Chicago!

This was our first visit to the Talbot - but it will not be the last. From check in to check out the experience was delightful. The location is right in the middle of shopping, dining and exploring. The rooms are well appointed and all amenities are right at your finger tips. If you have the chance stay at the Talbot Hotel.

The Talbott's location was prime! The beautiful lobby was intimate with a european feel. On the frigid days we were there, the two lobby fireplaces provided warming comfort. The staff was very hospitable and requests from room service were filled promptly. The updated, attractively decorated executive king accommodation was very spacious which included a walk-in closet with a safe. Two large windows provided an unobstructed view of the street below. The room's furnishings included a desk with chair, large dresser with minibar which held a large flat screen TV and a straight back side chair. Additional comfortable seating would have been nice for our needs and could easily have fit into the spacious room. The marble bathroom was superior in size providing both a deep tub and large shower, long counter, and a lighted magnifying make-up/shaving mirror. The bed linens were luxurious, and the mattress was very comfortable with natural feather pillows as well as other pillows provided. A cozy italian restaurant just off the lobby is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night drinks.

Expected an ordinary city hotel room for the low rate that we paid! WOW! Very large bedroom, living room, and super bathroom! Didn't want to leave!

This seems to be the only building in a two block area that is not undergoing construction. The hotel is surrounded on two sides by three buildings going up and there is scaffolding EVERYWHERE. One would think that the city would have regulated the hours of construction but the elevator is in the alley behind the hotel and starts up at 5:30am. I could put up with that and maybe even the dumpsters being filled and emptied at all hours but the rats also seem to have taken over - and this place has a restaurant that opens to a sidewalk cafe! Shudder...

We stayed at the Talbott for a girls' weekend, which happened to be the coldest weekend of the year, wind chills well below zero. Concierge made excellent restaurant recommendations within blocks of the hotel. Missed the brownies at night, but heard they were awesome. The double rooms are by the elevators, but not too loud. The bedspread was stained, and the room had that ""sanitized"" smell, but it was otherwise very clean and comfortable. No coffee in the rooms, but available downstairs until 11 am. I would definitely stay here again.

Very close to Rush street bars and Miracle Mile shopping, yet quiet and charming. Didn't spend much time in hotel with all the exciting things close at hand. Valet parking expensive but it IS a big city.

The Talbott Hotel offered a very relaxed environment with nice quiet rooms and a great location. The only problem was that the room we were given had been smoked in and smelled of smoke. The hotel offered us a different room (most would offer a preferred upgrade) but it was on the second floor with a meeting room next door which was very loud, so we went back to the original room. They did offer to spray the room. I expected to get an upgrade or a credit and received neither. The room was quiet and the bathroom was ample, including an exhaust fan, which I like.

Great location for Rush Street and it's dining options. Only 1 small drawback was that the business center had 1 PC and for the price of the hotel I thought that at least it should be complimentary.

Check in staff and doormen were very friendly. Decorations for holiday season were lovely...will staff there again as so close to good restaurants and Michigan Ave. shopping. The comfy robes are a treat and there was never a wait for the elevator.
