"I highly, highly recommend the Westin Diplomat. This hotel is absolutely amazing. You will not be disappointed. The beachfront patio/pool is beyond belief. It consists of an infinity pool overlooking the ocean with a glass window at the bottom of the pool that looks down onto a huge double pool beneath. The service is first rate, the rooms are clean and beautiful, and the food is excellent. Although I stayed for a vacation this would be an excellent place for a wedding or other large event. This hotel is HUGE! and they have separate banquet type facilities. "

The grounds, pools were excellent. Very attentive staff. This hotel was very plush and the staff attentive. I was impressed with the level of security that allowed only hotel guests to be in the pool area.

The service of the staff was simply magnificent! The food is a bit pricey. Overall this was a wonderful weekend getaway for us. The staff are so very professional and accommodating. Without asking, there was even a young man who came by to bring ice water to me at the beach. It seemed as though he read my thoughts!!! The food is pricey, but really good. Everywhere in the hotel common areas and in our room were immaculate. There are so many nice touches throughout (fountains, decor, etc.) All in all it is a fabulous place.

We only stayed for one night, and that was the only mistake we made. Two would have been better. Our 6 year old was so upset that we had to leave so soon! The bar/restaurant on the intracoastal side of the property was really neat. Kids loved the big "bed" lounge chairs. The pool was crowded, but the 6 and 8 year loved it and that's the most important. Room was great. No complaints. We will go back.

The view and the bathroom opening up to the bedroom. The bed was saggy on one side. Great!

Beautiful, relaxing, great gym, all the amenities. All the extra costs. No restaurants within walking distance. Five star Westin Diplomat in Ft. Lauderdale.

"The rooms are new and nice. The hotel is on a highway - you won't be walking anywhere. (A bottled water in the lobby = $-) The spa isn't on site - you have to take a shuttle bus. Biggest disappointment ? pool/beach service. There are NO umbrellas anywhere; if you want shade, you have to pay for it. Pool cabanas are $-/day. Beach cabanas (2 chairs, awning, umbrella) are $-/day. Needed two for four people then realized there is no wait service on the beach! You must go back to pool bar and serve yourself. Totally absurd for $- additional!"

The room and bed are comfortable, and that is the ONLY positive thing I can say. I have been here 4 nights for a conference. Everything is an additional charge, from the internet (even from the business center), to the beach chairs, to ridiculous charges for water, drinks, food. The beach is lovely - when the gates to it are not locked! The lobby area is lovely but the noise is so loud that it is uncomfortable to walk through it. The location is terrible - there are no other restaurants or coffee shops to walk to, no shopping. Definitely NOT a resort I would choose for personal travel.

great smell throught out the lobby and entire hotel .. amazing scenery and loved the room and the pool was just so beatifull loved everyhing about it.

Took 3 kids down for Spring Break, had a blast! Hotel is beautiful. Food is very pricy, but good. Hotel has a lot for kids to do. The pool is awesome and they have a great gym. Golf course is beautiful. Don't waste your money on the Spa, it is nice, but the massage therapists do not have a clue what they are doing. Paid for a 50 min deep tissue massage and got a 30 min foot rub??? (Spa and Golf Course is not attached to hotel, you have to take a shuttle to get to them.) Hotel staff was great and very helpful. Definitely would go back.

"Hotel is very beautiful, service is fast,helpful and always friendly. Spa is very nicely done, too bad it is not in the hotel though. Not so peaceful by the main pools, many children for an upscale place. Beds are heavenly, just as promised. There are no freebees like bottled water on arrival or parking discount. Internet is not free in the rooms, and is hard to connect in the lobby."

Beautiful hotel excellent pool free internet in lobby. The wait for service at Sunday brunch was excessive. Excellent hotel. We did not rent a car and took taxis to off property activities.

Awesome property! Totally awesome! This hotel was awesome! A group of 12 stayed here post cruise. The service, rooms, etc were outstanding. Will stay here again next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

The lobby is beautiful. Room was pleasant looking and comfortable. Restaurants were booked solid due to a convention. We had to leave the hotel at 9pm to eat off property! Even room service was over 1 hour to get! Our experience was not good in that the hotel room that we got was very noisy. There was water running all night from somewhere and air whistling out of a vent even when we turned off the thermostat. Must have been a centralized system that was causing the noises. Hotel management was not receptive to our concerns when we addressed it the next morning and tried to cancel the second night and move to another hotel. On top of it all while in the lobby lounge having a drink waiting for dinner there was a roach crawling up the wall next to my husband.
