This very modern, clean hotel in the very middle of the action had very helpful staff and the rooms though quite small were cozy and charming. Each night we returned to Jazz playing on our Bose acoustic wave radio. Flat screen tv and high speed internet service accompanied a great, clean bathroom. Had all in room amenities though the closet was small and held clothes on a back to front slider instead of left to right. Closet was the only complaint but thoroughly satisfied overall. Great Hotel right across the street from Chicago. Also there was a great little brunch cafe around the corner-Pigalle.

The Time Hotel was in a very great location just right off Times Square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but comfy. Over all I was very satisfied with our stay.

The room was very small. I expected more for the price. Housekeeping was performed late in the day and often wasn't finished until after 4 PM. The location relative to Times Square was excellent though.

The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful re: recommendations and assistance. This was not a room I would want to "hang out" in but why would you in Time Square anyway !!!

"We did our research before choosing The Time and I am glad we decided to stay there. The staff was polite and friendly, the room was clean and large enough just to sleep in. It's also in a very convenient location. Why do you need a huge room in NYC? We are already looking forward to our visit next year! Thanks!!!"

"Although this hotel is close to the shopping and theater district, its ammenities are at a minimum. The rooms that are considered ""superior"" are not. They are VERY small. Our room had a view of the alley way and window sills full of pigeons. In short, The Time hotel offers very little for the price."

Neat and tidy room, with all the essentials - a bit small though with traffic noise to get used to at night. The location makes up for that; just up the road from the Rockefeller Building, and just 5 minutes walk from Time Square.

We were at the Time hotel for a 3 night stay. We arrived extra early (7am), so well before check-in time. Our Queen bed room was of course not ready. The clerk at the front desk first offered us a smaller room to freshen up. Since we wanted to sightsee and not come back at 2pm to check-in our reserved room, she offered to upgrade our room to a suite for our entire stay at no additionnal costs! The room was clean, quiet and identical to hotel advertisement pictures. We did not dare touch the minibar as it is equipped with motion detectors. We had a plasma tv in the room and another one in the living room. Upon check-out, the concierge kept our luggage and we easily picked it up and the end of the day since we were catching a late bus home. The hotel location is great. It is within a walking distance to the bus terminal. Is is located in front of the theater where Chicago is presented. Very close to a subway station as well.

This small "botique" hotel met our needs: location & price. The reviews said the rooms were small so I was prepared, but this room was so small you could barely walk around the bed. It was clean and had a nice plasma t.v. Word of warning: do not touch anything in the mini bar unless you want to purchase it. The frig has montion sensors in it so if you remove something (just to examine) for more than 20 seconds, you buy it.

I liked this hotel in some ways. I know it is New York and I know I went during a holiday, but that does not mean the price gouging for a mediocre, at best hotel. They do not live up to the Sterling name. The staff was iffy. By that, if you were giving a tip they were giving you service. Otherwise, forget it. The concierge was pitiful. The room was adequate. However, I had to ask for a dresser for our clothes. The room did not have one. having said that, the location is great and there were some good points. They did hold our bags for us to leave later. And if the prices were a little lower, I would return.

This is an updated hotel which provided a side street welcome buffer from typical avenue noise in a desirable, centrally located neighborhood of Manhattan. We were able to step right out the door to view the Macy's day parade on Thanksgiving and took the subway to nearly everywhere without a long ride. Perhaps a small hotel gym would be a good addition, although there is a public gym on the same block. There is also a great little crepe place for breakfast - at an internet cafe on the same block - (as long as you are willing to put up with the crepe nazis there!).

"The location is absolutely perfect for Broadway/Shopping/Times Square. The room was small, but for two of us we needed nothing more. The carpet was worn a little where you are forced to walk due to the lack of room. The TV signal or unit itself was poor. We were very happy overall. Concierge service was excellent."

The price was right, the room was clean and comfortable, If I called for a blanket, bucket of ice, etc.. it was there in 2 minutes. Our daughter is in college in NYC and this hotel WILL be booked again!

"The hotel entrance is stylish, but not exactly practical. Same goes for rooms. I stayed for 9 days in a room with a king-sized bed. Bed was too big for space, closet almost nonexistent and no drawers of any kind anywhere to place things. My room was all blue and very soothing, but I wished for more space."

"My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. We had done lots of research of where to stay and saw the reviews about the rooms being small with good service. We decided to try it. Location is awesome. But small it right. Bed is on furniture with barely any standing room. It's fine if youre out alot. The breakfast was fantastic! Good staff. (Tip - is very hard to find from street, look for 2 all glass floors) Good for tourists and sightseeing, not for vacationing or honeymoons. Not sure if we would stay here again only because there are so many different places in NYC!"

Spent one night at hotel. We had to ask three times for an ironing board to be sent to our room. The bed was old and bumpy and the sheets were dirty. Staff was pleasant to deal with, location was great for time square. Just a little off the main area, it was welcoming to have a break from the bright lights. Room size was smallest yet that I have stayed in while visiting NYC.

Very nice hotel, perfect location! Quiet and affordabe (for NYC). Room are clean and comfortable, but are very small (as Europe). Staff if great. There is a parking ($30/24h) right in front of the hotel. The best deal ever in NYC. ** for 1 night stay. We would, for sure, stay here again.

The Time Hotel is located in a very centralized location. It is very close to all the major attractions and restaurants in all price ranges. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room we had for our visit was small, but had all the necessities. Due to the limited space, the shower was very small and uncomfortable and was the only difficulty I experinced. Overall we had a very good stay at the Hotel.

Before selecting this hotel I read all of the reviews and felt confident that the hotel was clean. The location was very close to Times Square which was great. When I walked in the air smelled very good like a spa. As I walked down the hall from checking in the rugs seemed dirty the walls not the cleanest. Our room was in a very odd area that seemed like maybe it was a closet area; it was off of the main hallway and contained only 2 rooms. The first impression of the room was that it was small. The size can be overlooked. The bolster type of pillow on the bed had some sort of white stain (we put it on the floor and never touched it again that weekend). The bathroon had mold, the shower curtain was not long enough causing water to get all over the floor. The water in the shower did not drain fully. The carpets seemd dirty, the lights were ultra modern but not really functional. Each time we left the room we had to make sure the door closed if not we would have walked away and left the room wide open. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I stay there again.

Had the worst travel experience of my life at the Time. I had booked a room thru the internet and paid the rate advertised by the hotel. I was given a confirmation number, and called to make sure everything was ok. When my family and I arrived we were informed by the Time staff that they do not have to honor any rate from an internet site such as travel website, or Orbitz or Instead they told me I would have to pay a rate almost $* more than what they advertised on the internet. Use extreme caution with this hotel. It's a decent hotel in a good location, but do not.. repeat do not trust this hotel to honor a rate you book over the internet.

As first timers in NYC, we were hesitant about picking a hotel. The Time was a godsend! The location was afabulous. Walk half a block and there you are in the middle of Time Square. It is also located 1/2 a block from two different subway stations that were very helpful. It is also directly across from the Chicago theater and right next to the Spring Awakening theater. Very convenient! The rooms were small, but comfortable. We stayed in a red room with a king bed that was very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern and had a great shower. The only thing I didn't like was the shades. I guess they were meant to be modern, but they didn't do much to block out the light. Luckily, we were in a room that looked out over the inside of the building instead of the street. Also, we had to run the AC the whole time to keep it comfortable in the room even though it was 30 degrees out. Once we figured that out though, it wasn't a problem. The hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating. The concierge service was fantastic. X helped us with maps, attractions, and even booked Broadway tickets for us. She was the best! The restaurant, Serafina, was very good, and you get a 20% discount when you stay in the hotel. We only ate there for dinner, but they even serve breakfast.
