We booked this hotel on the premise that it had a restaurant, a bar and served a full English Breakfast. On Arrival we were told that because the hotel had been without electricity for the previous 8 days we could only have continental breakfast. ( the Power was on when we arrived Friday night). Nobody informed us that the restaurant would not be opening. I feel sorry for the staff that we did see because they are bound to feel unsettled because the hotel is in the process of being sold. There was even an apology about the decor in the rooms saying that Marstons were reluctant to spend because of the sale. By the way we still had to pay full price despite the lack of breakfast, bar and restaurant.

This place has real potential - however, it's still under development. No restaurant/ lounge etc and half the place was boarded up.VERY basic room. None of the nice little things you'd expect like shower gel/ shampoo/ soap/ etc - not even a hot chocolate sachet! But room was clean.Could really do with central heating - electric heater was not really adequate in the unusual snow conditions. I was cold even when in bed with 2 extra blankets.Staff were friendly and helpful though - if you could find them! Nowhere to put my key when I checked out early though.
