Furthermore, special rates are available at the Greens Health and Fitness Club. The hotel has parking for a limited number of cars which is available on a first come first served basis. Once our car park is full, alternative parking is available at the Queen Anne car park which is situated on Gonville Place, postal code CB1 1ND.

Room very cold on my arrival, Wall Heater in the room did not work. Small portable heaterleft on by myself n room to warm it up while i went shopping. On my return the heater had been taken from my room!! Surely a four star hotel should have proper central heating

Nice location, charming hotel.A very pleasant hotel with lots of character. Location is excellent for Cambridge center and colleges. About 10 minute walk from station. Not so good a location for driving to. The street outside was very noisy until the early hours (on a Monday night), but that's not the hotel's fault. It would be my first choice of hotel in Cambridge again if travelling by train.

We first stayed here 7 years ago and our perception was that not £1 has been spent on the hotel since then. Our room was dated, in need of complete redecoration, had broken lamps, missing light bulbs, drawers falling apart, mouldy grouting throughout the bathroom, etc, etc.All of this during the longest period of economic boom we have ever known. Good luck to them now the economy is not so good. The staff were helpful and polite, just not enough of them (especially at breakfast). Also - don't miss the extra £14 charge for parking your car.

Excellently located hotel for very reasonable rateHaving read some reviews on the internet, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. While the room itself was quite small, it was very clean and well equipped. The towels were unbelieveably soft!The hotel itself was in a very convenient location. There was a great selection of breakfasts on the menu, with the breakfast room overlooking the green. While we didn't have dinner in the hotel, there were a number of fantastic restaurants in a very close porximity to the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently situated near the centre of Cambridge and the public rooms are in good condition and full of interest (original Victorian style) eg there is a wonderful old wooden lift in the centre of the building. The Laterooms rate was good but I would not be prepared to pay the full rate. The front of the hotel is a crass extension to an elegant building and the more modern lift is grubby and tatty. Our room was small and somewhat shabby - not as good as other De Vere hotels I have visited but they have been much more modern. Some more investment needed here especially as there is a brand new Crowne Plaza up the road.

I realise it is beyond the control of the hotel staff, but the walls are very thin. I could clearly hear the conversations of my neighbors above and in the adjacent room. I didn't get a very good night's rest because of it. However, the staff MUST bear this in mind when they begin their morning routine. I was awoken at 7:30am to slamming doors and loud conversations as the cleaning staff started their work.

Convenient LocationGood location in centre of Cambridge. Cramped and limited car parking charged at £14 a day. Rooms were a bit tired and need refurbing. Certainly would not pay the full daily rate. Noisey pub opposite with people still on the streets at 3.00am. Service excellent and very helpful. Good range of breakfast options though Full English portions meagre.
