The breakfast was good. Well cooked and plenty of choice. However the fats used in the cooking left an after taste. This was also the case with a meal that we had in the bar on the evining of arrival. Little things like this are not expected when the room was advertised at £200 (but discounted)

The hotel has excellent facilities and friendly staff. The room was very comfortable.The restaraunt served a very good evening meal but I am afraid the breakfast was cold and under cooked.

The food in this hotel was lovely. The staff in the hotel were friendly and reasonably helpful - when you could find them and when the phone was eventually answered. This hotel is used by locals as their 'pub' and leisure centre . We could not sit and eat as it was overun by very noisy young people. We were then told that room service would be about 45 minutes. Reception was often unmanned as were the leisure centre turnstiles which had developed a problem and refused to open and let us out. Staff eventually emerged from a back room they seemed to spend a lot of time in. We both discovered hairs on our 'clean' pillowcases and this coupled with the 'warship grey' decor made this an unpleasant place to stay.

The food on friday (included in the room price) was so good we returned on the Saturday. THe meal on the Saturday was so bad we had the entire bill wiped off!! Staff not very friendly (with the exception of the lady on reception on Friday night) and not willing to help. Rooms big and hotel close to town without being too noisy. Overall, nice hotel shame staff let the hotel down.
