We have been owners at El Rancho for more than 14 years and are now being asked by the owners for more money to enjoy the ammenities already guaranteed in our original contract. Due to all the construction going on along this stretch of beach and all the high rise condominiums going in El Rancho will probably go out of business and the owners are attempting to gather as much money as possible before selling.

We enjoyed a clean beach, polite/respectful vendors, a friendly staff, and were delighted at how easy it was to travel to & from the downtown area while staying at El Rancho. Sunsets were wonderful! The landscaping is beautiful and the ocean within steps. Mornings were the best! The beds were HARD, we had ants in both bathrooms, the kitchen was sparsely equipped, the cupboards and stove greasy, there was no dishwasher or dishwashing materials, we did not have a microwave for the first half of our stay, we had no heat or air conditioning in the room (and at times would have used them), TV was geared to Spanish speaking folks with no world news available, the pool was beautiful but not heated and not used, the hot tubs were luke-warm and used by everyone so the water was dingy and sandy and bubbly with bleach-smelling chemicals, and finally El Rancho would not pick us up from the airport when we arrived. We were disappointed, but made the best of our accommodations. The staff were always friendly and that helped to overcome some of the shortfalls, but the beds were awful!

This place was amazing. Quiet, peaceful, warm people, great beach. Not the feel of a hotel, more like home. We enjoyed ourselves so much and would go back in a heartbeat.

I suspect they post their own good reviews given the complaints constantly shared around the pool and environs by guests. The staff is nice, the location is nice but the units are moldy and bug ridden. They screwed up our reservation and charged so much more than expected, then demanded all our identification: passport, driver's license, and then they wanted credit card information. They wouldn't check us out until all the dishes and silverware were counted, after we had put up with the ants and cockroaches. Horrible place.

My wife and i have been in Mazatlan for several times. For this last trip we decided to try a different hotel and we simply loved it!!! Our children had so much fun there. The hotel is located in a secluded area, very private.. we felt so good and secure about our children playing on the beach, because we were almost the only people there.. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We went there to celebrate Valentines with our twins.. and we definitely will come back.

The villa is very spacious, two floors, complete kitchen, all you might need you will find it in your villa. Breakfast just in our garden, with the oceanfront view.. amazing.
