The Wellington Hotel was an excelent choice for us. It has a very good location, near both Times Square and Central Park. It?s also really easy to get to: we arrived at La Guardia airport and we took the M60 and the W/N subway and it got us just on Wellington?s entrance. There?s a Starbucks just across the street and 2 delis on the next block. The check-in was really easy and quick and the attention was great. The room was a little bit tiny but okey for the money we paid. We?re really happy with our stay at Wellington.

Location was within walking distance of several attrations that we wanted to see. Hotel staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room was upgraded which made us very happy but we could hear alot of noise coming from the street, garbage trucks, cars, etc. Room needed updating had areas that were run down.

The room was very small. It had a double bed rather than a Queen sized bed. My husband and I struggled to get ready each morning due to lack of room. The view was okay. The location was good. The hallways and elevators were not air conditioned, even though it was July. The night we were checking out we woke up to see 3 inch cock roaches on our floor, walls, and on our pillows. We couldn't get out of the room any faster. Thank god we didn't see them the first day or we would have checked out immediately.

The Wellington Hotel was perfect for us. The location was just fantastic. The room was small, but we didn't go to NYC to sit in a room! We had a corner room on the 20th floor, so we had windows on two walls! We would stay at the Wellington again in a New York minute!!

We were very pleased with the Wellington. The location was great! The staff was great at check in and we were very pleased with our room. The room appeared to have been redecorated recently. The only complaint we had was we didn't have a closet to hang clothes, but adequate drawer space. We felt the Wellington was a good value for the money we would definitely recommend it!

Had to have bellman show us to our room, which we had to tip. Very slow, hot elevators. Room had a dirty glass in the window sill when we got there, and was never removed for four days. Stained chair, microwave didn't work. The day after returning from trip, a $75.00 charge was added to my credit card without my authorization. I called and got an answering machine for the person in charge to see why they did this, and no response. I would not recommed this place to anyone. Had a one bedroom suite, and the bathroom was only acessible from the bedroom. I slept on the sofabed, and had to go throught the bedroom to get to the bathroom. The only other option was a two bedrrom, two bath, but it had no door between the bedrooms.

I have stayed in the city 14 times in the past 3 months and this was the most expensive with the smallest room. I am also some one who is not a complainer so lower the price and all is well. The water would not maintain temp. it was cold and then hot with no control.

The Wellington Hotel is a very well located. We were a couple of minutes walking from Times Square AND from Central Park, between 2 famous and very interresting streets: Fifth Avenue and Broadway! All around it, you can find a variety a different places to eat and shop. The room was big enough and very confortable. The employees were always very nice and helpful. We really didn't have nothing bad so say about The wellington Hotel!

The hotel is in a great location near the central park, theater district, and museums. The building is old, and staffs manners ranged from very pleasent to rude. The room could have been cleaner. The biggest problem for me was the noise. While I didn't hear any noise from other rooms, the old windows did not shield any noise from outside. The noise from traffic was pretty bad. There was some construction going on at night on the second day and I had trouble sleeping. Given that you are paying about half as much compared to people staying at hotels in the same block, you might be willing to live with some of the things. But, I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you are traveling for important business meetings or presentations (unless you can sleep through anything).

My husband and I stayed in the Wellington with his brother and wife for 4 nights in 2 rooms. I was a little worried because of the reviews but there was no need to be. Although the room was small, it was very clean and very comfortable with big TV and iron and ironing board. The staff were very helpful, the air con broke in my brother in laws room, they reported it on our way out for dinner and by the time we came back there was a whole new air con unit in their room. The location couldn't be better, it's next door to Carnegie hall, 5 mins in one direction to Times Sq and 5 mins the other way to central park, subway literally 7 steps from hotel door!!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!

This was our first time in NYC and the staff at the hotel was very helpful in telling us where to go, what to see, and how to get there. A couple of times I even called down to the front desk to ask for directions and they gave it to me without complaint. Our room was pretty small, but that is what you'll get in NYC because the city is so packed. The room seemed a bit outdated, but overall we had a good experience.

The Wellington is in a great location and that's about it!! The rooms are very small and very old. There's no air conditioning, we stayed in late May, so the begining of Summer and it was very hot and stuffy, so I can't imagine how bad it would be in the middle of Summer. The only good thing was the location.

A brisk ten minute walk to most theatres. Subway is at the door. Several fast food options within a 5 minute walk. HUGE room by any standards - let alone New York standards. Very clean and well maintained. Good hot water pressure. Excellent maid service. Rudest bellman who was there at all hours whenever I left or entered: "Heavy bags -out of my way" "Coming through." He almost knocked me over. He was like his own Saturday Night Live skit. Very annoying and rude, but hilarious in retospect.

The standard room with a double bed is extremely small, as well as the bathroom. There is hardly room for your suitcase. The bed was so bad we could not sleep throughout the night. The heating system is old and constantly makes noise. I upgraded to a king size room and bed and it was an entirely different situation. The room was bigger and the bed was definitely better. During this transfer the staff could not have been better. They understood my situation and did everything they could to assist us. The service was good and I would recommend this hotel, but only with a king size room.

I had heard bad things about this hotel after reserving it and was nervous, but was very pleased with our suite. You couldn't ask for a better location either. The only problem we had was our last night there the pipes for the A/C began making this insane noise and we could hardly sleep. Other than that the restaurant in the lobby was GREAT and the door man and bell men were extremely nice. I'd stay there again!

My stay at the Wellington was great. At 55th and 7th... it's located only a few blocks from everything! Central Park is only 2 or 3 blocks to the North, with a great little Greek food vendor on the way, perfect for a lunch in the park! Time Square is right down the street, with Theaters just within 5 minutes walk! The Carnagie Deli is across the street with the most gigantic pastrami sandwiches you can imagine! There's the NRQW Subway right outside the 7th Street exit that'll take you anywhere Uptown or Downtown you could care to go! 5th Avenue is a short walk away, so you can shop til you drop or for a quieter jaunt, slip into Joseph Patelson Music House, a great little music store on 56th street! The rooms are small, but comfortable. Considering what little time is spent in the room...it's perfect. Complete with a closet, an ironing board, iron and hairdryer...has pretty much what I needed!! The staff is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend the Wellington to New York City travellers.

The location is great and the price was terrific for a hotel so close to Times Square, and the staff was wonderful, but.......you get what you pay for. 1) the room was small and had a standard, rather than queen size bed 2) the rooms are air conditioned "in season". We had an uncommonly warm day off season and it took the room quite a while to cool down at night. 3) the walls we not very sound proof, and we could hear conversations on both sides of our room. 4) taking a shower was an ADVENTURE!! Something (flushing toilets?, other showers above or below us?) caused the water temperature in the shower to change frequently and significantly.

The Wellington is in a great location for tourists. It is well within walking distance of Central Park, Times Square and the theater district. There is a subway station right outside the door and the double-decker tour buses make a stop across the street. The Park Cafe is in the same building and has a good breakfast. The Wellington is an old hotel so clothes kept in the closet and dresser smelled like them after a few days. The temperature and pressure of the water in the shower varied at times. These are two minor criticisms. The room was quiet which was very important to us. The housekeeping staff was very good. Even on days when we went out at 11 am and came back at 4 the room had been serviced. I will definitely stay at the Wellington if I ever get to go back to New York!!

At check in, we received a complimentary upgrade to a King Room. Wellington is older hotel and still has long-time residents. We were lodged in residential tower, which was rather inconvenient and the soiled laundry cart and clean laundry cart never left the hallway. Great location and we would probably stay there again.

I have stayed at the Wellington twice. I go to NY mainly for the theatre so the location of this hotel is fairly ideal, as it's close to Times Square but also is a few steps from Central Park and transportation hubs. I don't expect much from the Wellington. The decor is standard hotel traditional, but not fancy. The lobby almost always is a hub of activity with people checking in and out. We hen I checked in this time, I asked for a room with lots of natural light. I had previously had a high floor, SW corner room (with a view of Times Square) so I know it exists. They have a bit of a service (scam) there that REQUIRES you to be escorted to your room by a bellman. I'm self-sufficient and travel without the need or expectation of services like these - which command a cash tip. I wasn't a fan of this, weather he was recently in the cast of Survivor or not. Oh, and you must wait for a bellman. My only request was for light, and they gave me a high floor, but a single-window center room. I stood waiting (again) in the hallway with my bags while the bellman left to negotiate another room (was this the plan al along?). This time I was given a NW corner room (less sunlight that south) with a view of Central Park and Carnegie Hall's rooftop. New York rooms are small and this was no exception. The WiFi worked better this time but it's not free. You pay by the week. Families gravitate here, which means much conversation happens in the hallway - so you can hear it. The Wellington is a workable place to keep your stuff while you spend time in NYC. There is plenty of dining (all types and price ranges), shopping, sights and transportation. Make sure price is the reason you stay here. Convenience is the only attribute you'll hands-down love.

I was expecting a little nicer and a lot cleaner room. The bathroom was extremely small and not very clean. I also thought there was going to be a coffee pot in the room and there was not. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and professional. My father passed away during our stay and we had to leave earlier than planned. The hotel handled the situation with professionalism and compassion.

What a wonderful location!!! We saw a broadway show, went to NYC Ballet and saw a Shakespeare in the Park performance at Central Park. It was great to be within walking distance to all of this and more! We always felt secure walking to and from our hotel and despite a couple of aloof door men, we enjoyed our stay there. There was a wonderful bellman named Jermaine... so nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

When we checked in the room was a disaster, bedding thrown all over the floor & had not been cleaned. Also, when we checked in, a room service tray had been placed in the hall. When we left 4 days later the same tray was still in the hall. I guess it was hard for the housekeeper or other staff to pick this up??? That says a lot about the hotels sanitary right there. I would not recommend this place.

At first they put us in a super tiny room. I would not have been able to exit the standard bed from my side of the room. It was up against the wall. Upon immediately seeing this; I told the bellboy this was unacceptable. He immediately called the front desk and had the room changed for us. The room was very nice and large. I was just wondering though if I hadnt said anything we would have ended up in that closet sized room. That makes me very uncomfortable.

The Wellington is a old hotel. The pysical charm is not as great as some of the other hotels in the city. This is a great hotel for the traveler on a budget. If you understand all this from the begining you will have a great stay. Due to age the rooms are small. In the room we had, the fixtures (tub, toilets, etc.) were old. Everything worked and the bedding and room was clean and maintained. The location and staff made up for any lack in hotel appearance. The bellmen and concierge were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the city. The greek resturaunt attached to the hotel had some great authentic dishes. Roomservice was available late into the night. I rated the hotel 4 stars because the value of the location, great staff, roomservice availibilty and the lower cost of a nightly stay. I would stay here again without hesitation!

My chief complaint was that the radiator could not be shut off. There was no thermostat in the room. Even with three windows open on cold days, the room was sweltering. It drove me outside. I was told it was a building problem and nothing could be done. Most unpleasant.

Great Hotel! Very clean, the rooms are small but nice and comfortable. The location is perfect, you are in walking distance of Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Museum of Modern Art, Fifth Avenue etc. Subway stations from which you can go to all important places can be reached within a 5 minutes walk (max). Service was very good, no complaints whatsoever.

There is nothing luxurious about this hotel, but there is little to complain about either. The room was shabby but clean. The staff was courteous. The location is superb, with many of New York's sights within walking distance and the subway just outside the door. Our only complaint was that our room was unbearably hot and that adjusting the fan and heat settings didn't seem to help. We finally realized the amazing fact that our 7th floor windows could be opened, and we solved our problem by opening them just a bit. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has a great location however the room was very small, there was no ice maker, no microwave, no refrigerator. Maybe this is the only hotel who don't have ice maker. So, I had to buy bucket of ice for 3 dollar everyday. I was also a little bit disappointed with the housekeeping, one day they forgot to leave clean glasses in the room, then they forgot to bring clean towel, and for two days, they didn't pick up the dirty glasses. But overall, i like this hotel, very good location.

This was our first visit to New York City and choosing a hotel was very overwhelming. We were very pleased with The Wellington Hotel. The room was very small (double bed), but for Manhattan I guess it was average size! The hotel room was very clean and the bathroom was larger than I expected (it had a full size bathtub/shower combo). The staff was wonderful. The housekeepers were very friendly, the front desk personnel were very efficient and the bellmen were top notch - very impressive!! The location of the hotel was fantastic! Close to the theatres, Times Square, shopping and Central Park. The subway system is literally out the front door. When we go back, we will definitely stay there!!

Don't waste your money staying here. The rooms are very small, the bed isn't much larger then a twin size and not very long, if you are over 5'5" tall your feet will hang over the bed. The towel rack is in the bath tub area, the toilet paper roll is centered in the middle of the toilet on the wall, so the seat won't open or close. You store your clothes in a 3 DRAWER NIGHT STAND. The shower water is either extremely hot or extremely cold so be careful if you do stay here so you don't get burned. The only remodeled part of the hotel is the lobby. Elevators are extremely slow and very small. Again don't waste your money here......

I took my daughter to NYC to celebrate her 16th birthday. We had a wonderful mother & daughter weekend. The best part about the Wellington is the location, everything that is exciting to see and do in NYC is within walking distance. We were very happy with the room we had at the Wellington, although small, we didn't need much room as we only basically slept there since we were out exploring the city so much. We had a nice corner room on the 18th floor with 2 windows so we had two nice birds eye views of the city below. We can't wait to go back again and will again choose to stay at the Wellington.

The Wellington offers the basics. There is definite need for updates and some paint would make it seem nicer. The double is quite small, no coffee maker, no ice either. The staff were friendly and helpful every time we had a question. I would recommend this hotel to friends but don't expect anything other than a small comfortable bed in a small clean room. No extras at this hotel. The location is great, the subway line is just outside the doors of the hotel. Times square is within walking distance as is central park.

The Wellington is across the street from our favorite deli - the Carnegie - at 55th & 7th and across from Carnegie Hall. It's very near Columbus Circle and the south end of Central Park. We came for 3 nights in January to see "Shrek" and "Billy Elliott". Fabulous location to see plays, walk in the park, shop, eat, stroll to Times Square. While old, the hotel is well-maintained, but not particularly updated. Beautiful crystal chandeliers. Lots of guests from other countries. Check their website frequently re pricing - it's varies a lot! Our rate went from $* to $*. By checking often on the rates, we were able to re-reserve & save $$.

To my delight, when I booked a room for three people, I was upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette. Granted, it was on a smoking floor, but the room did not smell. For people traveling without kids, the "east wing" seems to be better appointed than the side facing Seventh Avenue. For instance, the hallways off the elevator feature mirrors instead of fire hoses, and the heat is easier to adjust in the rooms.

I have stayed at the Wellington about 10 times. I have tried other hotels but always come back to the Wellington. I won't stray again! It is a great location, a few blocks from Central Park. The Theatre District and Rockefeller Center are not that far so are walkable. The subway is right at the hotel. Many great deli's close by and Fluffy's Cafe and Bakery in the next block is a daily stop for me. Bagels, black and white cookies, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast, etc. and their staff is great. There is a restaurant connected to the Wellington. Sorry, the name escapes me but it has a variety of foods and the service is very good. The staff at the Wellington-reception, bellboys, and housekeepers- are very helpful and friendly. I had a bathroom problem and it was fixed immediately. The Wellington also has their own transportation vehicles. I don't know if they pick up at the airport. I took it back to the airport and it was a good ride. My new experiences for this trip: the New York Public Library has a free tour at 11 am and at 2pm. It is well worth the hour it lasts. Also their gift shop is one of the best I have seen. I also found the MOMA Design store on 53rd St and it has some of the neatest and most useful products for sale.

Everything worked out for the switch. The location of the hotel was great, walking distance to Times Square and Central Park, subway station right out front. The room was small, but adequate, we were only there to sleep. This was our first trip to NYC, had a blast, might look into a different hotel for a little more comfort next time.

The hotel was in a great locaton. Taxi fares were very reasonable from our hotel to every place we wanted to go. There was also an entrance to the subway at the corner of our hotel, which was very convenient. I did not like that there was no ATM at the hotel. We had to use the one at the hotel across the street. There were also no snack or soda machines for those late night cravings. The hotel was clean, but very old. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel location can not be beat, period. The staff was friendly and my room was spotless. There is a need for some updating, carpet a little old, door facings need painted but nothing to cause problems to my stay in that respect. The heat in the room would not work, not a problem in the day but at night we got rather cold (late October). My biggest complaint is that we were put in the penthouse. That seems like a stupid complaint but let me explain. There is only 1 elevator in the entire hotel that goes to that floor and it happens to be the same only elevator that goes to the basement where the staff work from. During the day you would wait sometime 20 minutes (I am not exaggerating) for the elevator because the staff would hold it on the floor they were working on so they could get back to the basement fast. I complained about it to the staff and they acknowledged that they did do it but nothing changed and I am sure never will. The penthouse room was ok but definately not worth the hassle of the elevator.

The room was weirdly huge for NYC, but quite grubby, w/ visibly dirty carpet. Still, the bathroom was clean, and everything else seemed fine. There were a lot of tourists - it's right in midtown - and a fair mix of young people and families. The staff was actually quite friendly and helpful - far better than the room itself. I'd call it a great cheap option to be in midtown, but only if you get a good deal. Totally acceptable as a bargain, but not a place I'd choose to return to given other options.

We were in the middle of all the action. Subways and buses are nearby as is Central Park. We spent time in the busyness of mid-town and escaped to Central Park or to other locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I requested a non-smoking room; the room that was given to us was a smoking room and we were told there were no non-smoking. I thought I could deal with it until my eyes started watering. The staff said they could come up and spray something in the room. They then found a non-smoking room but it had a double bed. I took it just to get out of the smoking room. The ventilation system in the room did not work; made a lot of noise, started out cool and then turned to HOT within a matter of minutes. We had to open the windows which made for a very noisy night. The sheets did not want to stay on the bed so it was a wrestling match. I guess for the price for one night it was doable; but I will not consider this hotel again.

The Wellington was well-located two blocks from Central Park and just off Broadway, and the staff was helpful. We'd been upgraded to a room on the 23rd floor, which had a view of Central Park, an added bonus. Although the room was fairly small, it was nicely decorated. The bathroom was tiny, but I believe this is typical of older NYC hotels. It was quiet, clean and we had no problems (except for a blown fuse when I plugged in the iron). It was fixed immediately. The attached cafe was a good value for breakfast--very busy, but the service and turnover were quick.

Overall the service and stay at the Wellington was ok. The hotel is only about an 8 minute walk from Times Square which was fantastic. The room itself was rather small, but that was expected for NYC. The only issue I had with the hotel room was that it was a little dirty (lots of hair in bathroom, dust bunnies on floor behind vanity in bedroom, peeling wallpaper in bathroom). We also had a major issue with the water in the shower in that it seemed as though if someone in another room close to ours used their water, we would get scalded in the shower (not fun) - probably should have mentioned this to the hotel staff. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful too, although it was rather frustrating trying to check in a little early (check in is at 3pm).

The staff at the Wellington Hotel was courteous and the location was fantastic (couple blocks from Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square - 1,2,3 train station right outside the door). Unfortunately, the room was ridiculously small. It was the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed in. Also, the bed linens were sparse, just a sheet and rough felt blanket and a comforter.

This property is definitely aging and requires renovation. The rooms are somewhat delapidated and the lift very slow to respond.

The room was uncomfortable. Drinking glasses hidden. If the bathroom door were opened you could not open the room door. There was no pad in the bathroom to collect water when leaving the shower to dry off. No internet although another guest said there was wireless in the lobby at least. I owed $2.60 and the desk wanted me to pay $3 as they did not have any change when I checked out. I told them they could use my AMEX card which will surly cost them more than that. I could not recommend this hotel to any one.

The Wellington needs some updating. The room and bathroom was quite small. The decor, carpet and the full size beds were out of date. There was a little too much water pressure for my taste in the shower. They need some towel racks in the bathroom, but where would you put them with barely any room? The 4 elevators were quite slow and also very small. The staff seemed very nice and was a wonderful help with street and subway directions. Excellent location for being right in the heart of Manhattan (couple blocks from Central Park and Times Square, 1 block from Broadway). This is a great place to crash at night if you're on a budget and looking to save a little bit of cash.

We stayed a week at the Wellington Hotel, and it was the perfect location for seeing the city. We had a very good and reasonable dining area, proximity to the City Tour buses (two blocks), excellent service from check-in to check-out, and our corner room gave us views of 7th Avenue as well as 56th STreet and a peek of Broadway. Several good eating places in the two block area, all types and prices. It is an older hotel, but in great shape, and small but nice rooms. We loved it!!

The location was great-close to Times Square and Theater District.. Quick check-in and check-out. Staff was very friendly and helpful-our bellhop was a jewel. We had a room on the 17th floor-a non-smoking floor. The room was tiny, tiny, tiny but we figured for the price it was okay. The heater/ac never did work. so the room stayed hot even though we had the window open (no screen!). The room definitely needed renovating-the hotel is 105 year old. But again, for the location and reasonable rate it wasn't bad. On our next trip would probably try a different hotel in the same area if we could get a good price.

The Hotel Wellington was comfortable. If all you're looking for when you're in Manhattan is just a place to sleep and to catch a shower - this is it. We had twin beds and a TV in the room. That's ok because all we wanted in the hotel we stayed at was a clean room with a bathroom to get a shower every day. It is also convenient to the subway and many, many Manhattan attractions. I loved the short walk right out the hotel door to the subway and we were on our way. The hotel is located a short walk from Central Park in one direction and Times Square in the other. If you're looking for a quiet place to grab a drink, then Kennedy's is the perfect pub not far from the hotel. The bartender is from Ireland & he's very friendly and knowledgable about the surrounding area. We had a great time and would recommend The Hotel Wellington to anyone!

I've been to nyc many times and stayed a variety of places. This may not have been the fanciest place but it was right in the middle of everything. The room was clean but small and the staff was very nice for nyc. I don't go there to sit in a room so the price, location, and amenities were perfect. I will go back.

The Wellington is a decent hotal right between Times Square and Central Park on 7th Avenue. It is a very tourist-y area. There are tons of out-of-towners with cameras and confused looks on their faces and you are on the main drag for the hop-on/hop-off tour buses. So if you can put up with feeling like you're in the middle of a tourist trap, then this will not bother you. You are 10 locks or so north of Times Sqaure, and only 3 or 4 blocks south of Central Park. So there is plenty to do. The room was very small, and the bathroom was miniscule. The room was clean and neat. The air conditioner was not working and we had to call the front desk. A friendly maintenance man arrived in about 30 minutes and fixed it. The water pressure in the shower was the strongest I have ever experienced anywhere. The hotel was incredibly busy with wedding parties and tourists. The lobby was almost always completely full of people. There is a mediocre diner attached to the hotel lobby, but it serves its purpose. They had good french fries. There are 3 pay-per-minute internet stations off of the lobby. There is also a sundry shop. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 overall.

This hotel is a great, economical place to stay. It is older, but clean. Does not offer any real perks (no coffee in a regular room, no microwave, no gym) but we were able to get a refrigerator in our room. The staff was friendly and courteous and very helpful. The best thing about this hotel is its location to most of the major sightseeing attractions. We were able to walk to Central Park, Times Square, Rockfeller Center, Broadway, Carnegie Hall, etc., etc. Lots of restaurants, shops, and delis very close by. Subway station very close by. Would definitely stay here again.

We could walk to Times Square, Broadway, and everything is right there. All staff were very pleasant and willing to help. I would definitetly stay again and we probably will soon. Doorman got our cab whenever we walked out the door. Great Shopping trip with my teenage daughter.

The hotel was perfect for the NYC trip my travel companion and I wanted to have. Our purpose was to enjoy as many broadway plays as possible and to explore Central Park. The Hotel Wellington was located in a great spot for both. We also wanted to minimize the costs for a hotel when we only wanted to use it to have a place to lay our heads at night. The hotel was fully booked for the weekend we were there and we were fortunate to have our room upgraded to a suite, which included a microwave and a refrigerator. We were able to save even more money by walking to a local market and preparing most of our meals in our room. The hotel is very outdated. Our room did not have air conditioning (which we did not need in the beginning of May. However, the romm was clean, the staff was friendly and responsive and it had the basic necessaties. Earplugs were also helpful since the windows were open at night and NYC is seldom quite.

The people at the front desk were very attentive and helpful. They gave me a free room upgrade as well as a late check-out time without any charge. There are also 5 computers in the front lobby with internet access, for the low cost of $1 for 5 minutes - very reasonable for NYC. Lastly, it was in perfect walking distance to everything important... Times Square, Central Park, etc!

We had stayed at the Wellington 4 years ago and decided to stay again because of the location. We did most of the tourist things (Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc.). Proximity to Times Square and the subway was also great. One of the treasures we found this time was the very convenient Park Cafe. The food and service was excellent (a little pricey, but the food was excellent). The room we stayed in was also excellent (a little noisy on the 7th Avenue side). The fridge and microwave were unexpected bonuses, although we didn't take advantage of the microwave, mostly because we wanted to take in as much local cuisine a possible. The food we found wasn't spectacular (other than the Park Cafe). We tried mexican and chinese and were a little disappointed. Our overall experience was good.
