The luxurious decoration, staff was very helpful. The food was too expensive and not very good. I think that 7 euros for a cup of American coffee is too much. I liked the hotel accommodations and the convenient location it's in. What I did not like was the expensive food at the restaurant, which was not that great for the prices they charge. I think that to pay 7 euros for a cup of American coffee is a little outrageous. Even the least expensive hotels sometimes have free coffee for guests.

The location of this hotel is fabulous. It is right across the street from the Tullaries garden which is adajent to the Louvre. You are within walking distance to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Opera Garnier, fantastic shops, cafes, and the easy metro system is right down the block. Also many tour excurions leave from a block away. This was my first time in a different country, and if I were to go again, I would definitely stay here. You would never have to leave the neighborhood to have a wonderful time. The staff is English speaking, so they can help you with everything. Money exchange is a block away. Taxi right out front. We had a fabulous time and would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone. Would not consider staying anywhere else, if I did a return visit. Always felt very safe, even late in the evening. Everyone walks everywhere.

My wife and I got engaged in Paris 5 years ago and we returned over Thanksgiving weekend for the anniversary. Five years ago, the Westin Paris was the Intercontinental, and we stayed there then. Some rooms have been refurbished, but much of this beautiful historic hotel remains as it was...and that's a good thing. We were even greeted by the same concierge staff. I called ahead to tell the hotel that we were travelling with an infant and were hoping to get a room early--we were arriving at 8AM. They couldn't promise us anything, but they made a note in our reservation about it. When we arrived, a room was, in fact, waiting for us. I also called ahead to book a car and driver to pick us up from the airport--highly recommended by the concierge, since they were experiencing a transit strike at the time. Everything was there for us, exactly as promised. This is not an inexpensive hotel. The price for room service, especially with the weak American dollar, was outrageous, so we didn't eat there. But the location of the hotel offered many excellent food choices within easy walking distance. We've found that the best hotel experiences come when you do a little research on your own so that you have good questions to ask the staff. For example, if you want help with a restaurant choice, what kind of cuisine? What price? The staff at this hotel is willing to help in any way they can. Calling the hotel or sending an e-mail before you make your trip already familiarizes them with your special needs (and your last name) so that when you arrive, you're less of a stranger than the other people in checking in. A good advantage to have.

Very accommodating. The center lobby was enclosed by a clear glass wall. There wasn't a comfortable, inviting common area.

For first time visitors to Paris this was like hitting the hotel jackpot! So close to major attractions (Louve, Place Vendome, Opera, metro stops) and was a great place. They had costumed hotel staff on Saturday when we arrived so it was like staying with Napoleon etc, and the concierge staff were extremely helpful with making the most of our 3 days. The hotel was fresh and beautiful with some modifications but they were slight. I am already booking a return trip with girlfriends!!!

The helpful service was of great benefit. The breakfast was expensive and the variety of food was small. I would recommend the west in Paris to anyone. It was in a great central location for many sights and very near the louver. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, which is nice for first time visitors to Paris, and provided many great suggestions for evening outings and dinners. While the room was not overly extravagant or large, it very nice, extremely clean (which is very important to me), and was the most comfortable room I have had in a long time. I would definitely stay again.

Everything was excellent. Only issue we could not get early check-in, even there we only had to wait an hour. The hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood, close to the park and most tourist spots are easily accessible via the Metro nearby.

It's not the Ritz but very nice. The decor is beautiful. The room service and all staff were pleasant and helpful as we did not speak much french. The retaruants there are fabulous. It's centrally located close to the Louvre, Jardin T., Eiffel Tower, Opera Garnier and the Moulin Rouge is 10-15 mins by cab.

It was a great trip. The staff were very good to us and had our room ready for us.....The hotel is very close to all the museums that you wanted to go...you don't need to rent a car..Take the metro that is very cheap or the bus.....If you needed help the hotel was very nice to help you and so many ways...We where treated very nice the whole entire time. They even had our taxi ready to take us to the airport when it was time to go back home....The only negative thing about the hotel is that the rooms are some and their restaurant is very expensive to eat...I recommand to go to cafe's that are close to the hotel or the hotel is willing to help you to find some place to eat.

I just spent 7 nights at the Westin in the first. I have been reading reviews for weeks in anticipation of my trip. Some reviews almost made me change to another property. the GOOD I arrived at 10:30 am - was greeted at the curb where my luggage was whisked away. I was warmly greeted at the reception and although check in was not until 2 pm, I was assured I would have a lovely room within 30 minuets. As I waited i could not help but notice the exquisite architecture - the lobby surrounds a stunning courtyard. It is as if you are outdoors. My room was ready as promised and it was beautiful. Very large by Parisian standards, nice decor, great bathroom and incredible view onto the courtyard. I kept the large french doors open at night to the sound of the fountain. Very peaceful - ( room 1007 ) I read others complaining about the thin walls and this is true - there were only a couple of times that I even noticed though. Within blocks of most of the major sights, the location is ideal, and a very short metro ride to the Marais-) I felt very well taken care of and my friends staying nearby were quite impressed. not so GOOD This is not the best hotel for a business traveler. The lack of wifi in the room was a hassle for me. The fact that I was tethered to a desk at 9 euros an hour to do my computer communication and research about the parisian hot spots was not good. Bring your own converter for electricity. They do provide one in the minibar - tried to charge me 12 euros a day for using it.

This was our first visit to Paris and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located near many locations and within walking distance. The hotel is located far from the Charles de Gaulle airport so make sure you have plenlty of Euros and give yourself at least 30 mins for travel time depending on the traffic. The room service is a bit pricey but the food was very good. You are better off eating out somewhere else in Paris if you want to get more for your dollar. The internet access is a bit pricey so make sure you have your own service when you visit. The room has some good information on the city, on resturants, attractions with prices and times that they open and close which was very useful. Overall a great experience we would definitly stay there again.

The hotel's best asset is its location. Right next to the Louvre, and Place de la Concorde. Near excellent shoppes and cafes. The staff was friendly. That is where the positive notes end. The rooms are partitioned by paper thin walls. We could not sleep as we could hear everything in the adjacent rooms. The windows had very poor noise reduction and very poor insulation. Incredibly drafty. Very poor temperature control. We stayed here in January and next to a major street therefore these were significant issues. We also were charged significantly more to get a half decent view. As a final blow, after we checked out, we specifically requested the concierge to get us a taxi that accepted credit cards as we had exchanged most of our euros back to dollars. Well, they got us a taxi that did not and we realized this halfway to the airport. The taxi did take dollars but at a very unfavorable rate. I am partly to blame for trusting the hotel and not asking again before getting in the taxi.

I stayed here with my wife and two small children. You will definitely need a small suite with more than 1 child as the non-suite rooms are only 200 sf. The hotel faces Rue du Rivoli with excellent views of the Eiffel Tower, but the street is somewhat noisy. After moving to a suite off Rue du Rivoli, we loved the remainder of the stay. The hotel has no small shops or hotel restaurant attached, and we needed to walk several blocks to get small items such as toiletries and milk.

Location, decor and staff. Still working in the remodeling. My third stay and every time have been better. Westin is really making a point of transforming this hotel into a top luxury hotel in Paris. Rooms are good size and the bathrooms too which is a treat for Paris. Also the value is one of the best in this expensive hotel city.
