Description
In 1934, a dedicated group of Sierra Club volunteers built Clair Tapaan Lodge. The lodge is located 25 miles from Lake Tahoe in the Central Sierra Nevada and is situated on a forested hillside near historic Donner Pass. Its proximity to premier areas for winter skiing and summer hiking and climbing make it the perfect getaway retreat. The moment one steps through the massive doors into the comfortable interior, it is evident that the lodge retains all of its original rustic charm. The Lodge boasts a cheerful dining room, a large living room with a huge fireplace, a cozy library with a wood-burning stove, a recreation room, and a hot tub. Sleeping accommodations include separate dormitories for men and women, small rooms for couples, and larger rooms for families. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. The bathrooms are shared.
